Adam and I get out in front of guess what...more heavy rain expected in WI. Streams were at banks earlier his week. Fewer options, so we stayed close by (for me). Dirty, but fishable, water produced a few decent browns. Broke another pole. Extremely poor plan B. You may think dirty high water could harm trout, but it does not. Dirty, high water hold lotsa food for trout that has been flushed into the streams from fertile banks. Worms, bugs, seeds, etc. I am pretty sure we had a day here where all the fish were fed on other sources and they did not need to work and seek out metal tidbits to eat. Happy fishing!

Well, you will have to travel. The driftless proper does include a small portion of NW IL and NE IA, as well as SE MN and SW WI. So you are looking at closest streams (like the streams in my videos) being near Dubuque, IA and Galena, IL or the far western WI border counties. There are many streams in those areas, but the bulk of the driftless is in WI. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driftless_Area Happy fishing!

I have fly fished for warm water fish in the past. Bluegills and bass mostly. I do not care for it. I suppose if I end up unable to wade I would take it up to vary presentations more at bridge holes. Fish how you like. Happy fishing!
