I am a Menominee, and I am very proud of that fact. I adore my time spent around Keshena in our native land. I will never forget where I came from.

I'm in SE WI and I have Menominee cousins I still hope to meet. Have been to Rez 4x. The last time in 2019 attending New Years Powwow produced leads. I do not want to post to respect. Then Covid.

I have no Native blood in me. My families came here in the late 1800s and after. Even still, I wish I had learned more about the local Native tribes here in Wisconsin early on. The history of our state did not start with its founding in 1848, but long before. I think to appreciate our state, we wisconsinites must learn and understand the earlier history that may have survived.

Indeed. A Native family had been found dead of starvation in my hometown early 19th century when it was still natural just couple blocks from the Lake and is southend of the downtown. A library and park are there. How many there know that?

I really wish my biological grandmother would of had more peace in her heart and was willing to talk about her experiences. It hurts watching what a rich history I have but not being able to have a stronger connection to it. My mother was given up for adoption and continued the cycle of alcoholism. I pray one day my questions will have answers.

I love how the creation story of the Menominee links humans with animals right away - meaning we are one with every living being on the planet.

I thank you for sharing. Appreciated very much. Early people's ways, life, history & language carry stories & lessons we all should learn & grow with. I enjoy being the eager student. Look forward to hearing more of the story's.

What is missing in our story is our connection to our linguistic brethren. Our ancient history is apart of the Algonquin movement into the greatlakes region well before the time of Christ. A native history of that movement is kept in the Red Record (The Wallum Ollum.

Aliens must hate white people, then, since you never hear about them helping europeans build castles
