Nobody is stopping you from doing that right now. Don't wait for someone to tell you that you can--if you love this culture so much, you should already be able to speak at least one of their languages. I'm learning Lakota and I'm from Europe. History *is* mostly the story of human struggle--the Indians didn't have it any worse than other peoples that have been conquered (i.e., most of the peoples on Earth at one time or the other).

When he landed, his plans quickly changed to finding gold and by God, the natives were going to do it for him and die doing it. All he wanted was to please the king so he could get all the glory. I have lived in the white man's world most of my life (I'm 80) and have had to adjust some things in order to survive, but I would never deny my heritage and I would never deny my spiritual heritage. I must have had a good education because I grew up in the 80's & 90's, & my history focused heavily on the Native American nations, Trail of Tears, slavery, African American inventors, suffragists, Hitler, & the Constitution. It sounds like they learn nothing these days. I have no illusions about what Europeans did around the World, but they are not the only people to have conquered, colonized, & enslaved. Matter of fact, Powhatans attacked & killed a lot of Jamestown. I didn't learn that until an adult. So, there is a lot left out of history books.

Calling ourselves native Americans as redskins is not an insult, that’s basically who we really are. I was once told that there’s 4 original skin colors, red, white, black and yellow. You mixed it all together, then there’s brown. (Hence, the Latinos) If you were to look it up, there’s a Native American symbol that has exactly those 4 colors and a cross in the middle. It mainly means that no matter our skin color, we are still equals.

I'm American (navajo) and European American ( Irish,English, polish) I'm glad more information is surfacing about Americans. I was only taught European American history in schools like about European American presidents such as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. There is much to learn and share about American culture. European American culture is to new and is mostly surround with war, murder, crime.etc. So kind of hard to be proud of that. I'm learning more and more everyday about my American culture.

This story was very uplifting and powerful. One mission I have recvd is to clear the karma of the maternal line of the Iroquise. I am the last female in my line. My grandmother migrated to Colorado from Alscase Lorraine. The border of France, Germany. The message about the sins of the father's, even unto 7 generations, came from my ancestors, the Iroquise. The synchronicities in my life are amazing me still. Nat Geo just did a series called the Barkskins. I haven't seen it yet, but my brother did. I shared this to him as he is more focused on the Scandinavian side of the family. Thank you for this masterful video. ✨🙏✨

The Seminole are NOT a tribe... they were a confederation 'runaways' of people who were displaced from various tribes and also those who were indentured, enslaved, imprisoned or threatened with it by the big three empires France Spain & Britain... the United States DID NOT EXIST then... in fact there were even IRISH people that were part of the Seminole confederation of 'runaways'... a more formal confederation is the longest still lasting democracy on earth: the Iroquois... there wampum was based upon principles many of which were also adopted & implemented in our CUSA! As far as the cree people are concerned I am fairly certain that was a tribe & not a confederation... but who exactly were the creek... like they were people who lived in under or by a creek?!!?

@honestmark2383 Hello, Thank you for asking. I've been through the Viet-Nam war and Several death scares and I give thanks every morning and every night for still being alive. Every day above ground is a good day as We'd say in the Marines. The Marines sent me to college for 10 years to become a mechanical engineer and the Marines and the pharmaceutical company sent me all over the world. Every time my plane lands here I want to jump off and kiss the concrete. Thank GOD we live here. I've traveled all over looking to find a home and 3 years ago I found it in Concho Arizona and here I'm building my last new home. It feels good to put down roots finally and all things I learned in college I'm now putting into practical application. I'll be giving free seminars soon instead of teaching at the local college. My life is very good now and I'm thankful I'm here and in excellent health. Now I'd like to find a great lady to share a life with.

Skoden Fineden why does the land belong to anyone? By what right does land belong to anyone in perpetuity. Even in our current capitalist society we cease to own things when we die. What is ours now is someone else’s tomorrow. The story of the indigenous peoples of North America is a complex one. Yes, some bad things happened to indigenous peoples by Europeans. Bad things were done by indigenous people to other indigenous people as well as a Europeans. It’s time to stop counting the past wrongs of generations long gone.

Douglas T. Malatare enrolled Blackfeet elder from Montana. Comment: listening to the documentaries to me is biased because it comes from the non-indian perspective only angering the true American Indian.. the reality as I am told that the white supremist came uninvited to our sacred homelands. They were running from their origin from tyranical christian European powers, thus they were seeking asylum and our ancestors nurtured them and they got their health back and our azad ancestors taught them agricultural survival..many more Europeans followed and began to populate and shamelessly occupied and began as piracy methods of robbing, killing, and stealing Indian lands. Their origin rulers killed their god, Jesus Christ. Shamed they burned the Christian sacred bible only to around 1117 English scholars wrote their own bible followed today. So the original teaching of Jesus Christs true messages the truth from his father God was destroyed and wrote to meet their evil ways which our ancestors the lord suffered under their cruelties . As I interpret suffrage such as genocide methodologies are many: 1493 Doctrine of Discovery; 1855 & 1868 Indian Treaty era; 1858 settlers provocation of Indian War era; Indian Reorganization Act; Indian Allotment Act; Education Acts; to mention a few to start their to exterminate, annihilate, genocide, and termination from our own sacred lands gifted to us by our father creator. When in fact they are what I interpret "IMMIGRANTS, illegal aliens!" Our American Indian International sovereign nations must ban together an reclaim our innate an original rights but only by complete Indian Nation solidarity and asking our father Creator to pity us and to stand with us..we can beat these bad evil spirits that control our Indian peoples..today. just a short suggestion aye as I am only following my heart and spirit. Oki

I have a Cherokee ancestor dating back to Sequoia who gave the Cherokees an alphabet for their own written language. The Cherokees were located in the Georgia area, near the border with Florida. When white settlers wanted their land, President Jackson moved the Cherokees on a long walk to Oklahoma, know as the, "Trail of Tears." Today, their reservation is located in the northeast corner of Oklahoma. Oil was discovered on their land in later years.

I am from the Philippines. We have similar history. The Philippines was under the Spanish colonizers for 300 years, destroying our unique culture. They were followed by the Japanese who reigned us for 4 years. Again they forced us to embraced their culture. After them, the Americans who ruled us for more than 40 years. Nothing was left with our culture. The Filipinos had a mixed culture. During the time of the colonizers, the ancient Filipinos had suffered so much on their hands. .
