Hi I have the same unit as yours and I did step by step everything as you said but it doesn't want to connect, it says connected to your car but then goes away please assist what other setting I can try.

I feel like by the time you do all this and get it working and then dealing with the battery drain you will get on the phone you might as well just plug the phone into the headunit.

My head unit has built in android audio via USB only, this is a great alternative atleast for me because I get "slow charging" when I connect directly by USB. This way I can use my fast charger and connect wirelessly.

Thank you, I have a LG Stylo6 that doesn't stay connected to my android head unit. Now all I have to do is open HUR and its all good. These other people must not do any programing or trying to make their cheap units better. Now if i could figure out how to get the Sub out rca to work all would be great in the world. Thanks for this info and demo. Looking for help. Running what looks like same headunit as you. With usb on bottom right. It's running on Android 10. Phone is Samsung S20ULTRA.. Headunit reloaded is connecting with phone. But phone dose not turn on got spot. Think Wi-Fi launcher is searching. Also Android auto Android assistant and Spotify all running from phone. Not on headunit. I don't know why. Abu clues please.. as my menu not same as yours. Cheers

How do you open Android Auto on your phone? It's not in my app drawer, the only way I can see that it's even installed is by going to the play store (which has no option to open it).

@@waseemhassam I found the solution. You should tap 10 times to version part down in the android auto. After that click 3 dots at the top, u will see developer options.

Open Android Auto on your phone, then go to Settings, then tap the 3 dots on the upper right of your screen, tap Developer Settings, then set Day/Night. If you can't see Developer Settings on your Android Auto. Go to Settings -> About -> Tap "Version" 10 times to activate Developer Settings.

Could you please answer me android unit use the internet from?

I don't mind using with a cable but have yet to get it to display the Android Auto on the head unit ..only the phone shows it. Even with cable connected to USB.

It take time to load but if you want to use wirelessly with internet, try this. But cable recommended because it's fast. Open Android Auto, Settings, Scroll to version and tap until popup developer mode. Press three dot on upper right and start server or something similar like that. Then hotspot your phone to car. Open headunit reloaded then wifi. Now you can use with internet.

Maps will load to your HU and the connection will be coming from your phone at it is connected via Android Auto. Only apps / features in Android Auto will have an internet connection. The rest of the apps on your phone OUTSIDE Android Auto won't get internet connection UNLESS your HU is connected to 4G/LTE.

That's the WiFi hotspot name that you have to set on your Android head unit.

This is a good work around for 3rd party head units. With android 11 coming to all soon, I'd rather wait.

@@gzicker battery optimizations perhaps? It's probably more a matter of programmed obsolescence though, making people get a newer phone just to get the latest OS version that gives them an extra software feature. It sucks

Hi, it must be installed on the head unit. You don't need to download the head unit reloaded on your phone, but download the WiFi launcher instead.

I was wondering about that. So basically if your car is already has Android Auto and you usually plug the phone in, this method won't work to make it wireless. Bummer

Can someone please explain it to me the benefit of wireless android auto vs wired other than the fact you don't have to mess with wires? I feel as though I might be missing something. If it's just sheer laziness in dealing with a single cord, I kind of think that speaks to a broader all around laziness problem an individual might have. I think it's a feature that should be there for sure, but the benefits of wired seem to far outweigh wireless and so I am having a hard time understanding. Please help.

I have found that the USB connection on these head units does not provide enough power to charge my battery. I feel by having a good separate charger I can get good charging, hence wifi helps.

@@juliovaldez5468 But bluetooth music playback is so degraded compared to a wired connection that for me, its not worth it. On the ford f150 that my job provided me, the ford sync system charges the phone just fine and the wired connection on my Lg V60, with it's hardcoded music abilities with a tweaked EQ make the stock speakers sound fantastic. For audiophiles, there's no substitute for wired. Until BT spec 5.1+ takes over the world, I just can't go wireless on android auto.

For me laziness is the answer. I am out running errands and listening to something on the phone. I go to one store, unplug the phone, get out of the car and put it in my pocket (unless I forgot to grab the phone which happens a lot). Then I get back in the car and start going, oh yeah my phone. Now I have to unbuckle the seat belt and twist in the seat so I can pull the phone out of my front, jean's pocket. Then plug in the phone. Then stop two, rinse and repeat. Then store three, etc. Just leaving it in my pocket and when I start the car, the podcast or whatever starts right back up where I left off.

This is exactly the same problem I've run into. Doesn't seem like there's much of a point in running Android Auto if you can't access the internet. Your maps won't even work properly.

You can enable Smart Network Switch/switch to mobile data in the wi-fi settings. It will allow you to use the mobile data should internet be unavailable on wi-fi

One question: if your phone is connected via wifi to the android headunit, that means that the headunit must have 4G-LTE internet access to allow the phone to play KZread or Spotify, is that right or how is phone is gonna get the internet signal?

Nesse caso você tem de colocar o ponto de acesso no celular Pro celular fornecer a Internet pra ela (e não o contrário) Assim você conseguirá utilizar os dados móveis no sem celular

right now it uses a combination of wifi & bluetooth. I believe you will need bluetooth connected in order to use AA.

Usb cable and charge cable its different?

Are you using two cables? If you’re using a cable that is only used for charging (no data) then it’s just a charging cable. But if you’re charging cable has data on it, meaning to say it can also be used to connect to your computer, then it’s a data cable. So yes, data and charging cable (only) are different. For this one, you need a data cable to connect to Android Auto.

I had the same issue, go into your settings, connections-data usage, click on mobile data only apps. Select the ones you wish to use with AA. Worked for me.

@@jansen_vlog thanks for your reply . From playstore it show that is not compatible with my phone (S7 edge) but i download the apk file from google and instal it . But when i click to open it. It show that the app is dead can't be used and close automatically . There is another app lile wifi launcher to do the same steps ??? Thank your for your help
