Wire Wrapped Prong Ring Tutorial for Faceted Gemstones- Step by Step
In this video I am honored to go over Patricia Capotosto's Classic Faceted Prong Ring Tutorial featured in the July/August, 2004 issue of Wire Artist Jeweller.
I've been making this ring for over 15 years now and it's always been my "go to" ring design for my larger gemstones.

Patricia gave me permission to make a video version of this tutorial back then but I kept it as a testimonial as long as she had her tutorial available.
I had the link to her website along with her email in the description of that video so people could grab the written version.
It was brought to my attention that her link is no longer working and she is not answering her emails.
Patricia worked very hard to make these instructions, measurements and steps and took great pride in this tutorial and for good reason. It works!
If followed precisely it is pretty much failure free.

Please please please do a tutorial on a larger, deeper stone ring…that blue topaz(?) would be great. Not one single video showing how to make a ring using a large, really large stone.

I made this ring today and I am in love. I used a 18x13 Swarovski rectangular crystal and its gorgeous. I did a dry run with artistic wire and I plan to redo this with Sterling silver. Once I get the technique down I probably do it one more time just to make sure I understand all the ins and outs before I do it again in silver.
