@@InfernoTune727 The eg-r team always creeped me out. It even said in the manual that came with the game that the pilots probably weren't participating on their own terms. Meaning they were controlled by the weird machinery.

@@greencatdude866 Also, if you pause on some frames, you can see the words "Are you good enough?" flash on screen. Now it could just be like some slogan or something, but given the nature of the game, all the threats and death the pilots have faced in this tournament given how corrupt it was, if I remember correctly, this could also be a nightmare as well, or maybe a nightmare mixed with a flashback. The pilot could be asking himself "Am I good enough? Will I make it through this alive?" Or I could be thinking way too much into this lmao

One year late, but you'll probably find the opinion of most WipE'out" fans is that it's a decent game in it's own right, but a bad WipE'out" game for many reasons, chief among them being how much it changed the formula.

Yeah but I wish I could of seen more of this art style it seems very cool. Also I like the detail of characters and damaged models of the ships that effects handling maps are kinda cool but love upside down parts and off road parts too

It's such a cool experimental try of WipEout. And I like the direction they try.

I like to think that this era of AG Racing in the WipEout lore is a reference to 80s motorsport where all the biggest classes were extremely fast. The first turbo era of Formula 1, Group C prototypes and Group B rally. Aidan Millward described it as "a rock concert at over 200 miles per hour". In this case, it's a techno rave at 1200 kph.

Best wipe out intro. Emits the real spirit of the game.

wipeout intros be like: WipEout 1: cool techno music WipEout 2097: electronic funk fr? WipEout 3: oooo cool futuristic simplistic logos and some random explosions WipEout Fusion: Setting things up leaving a tragedy behind it. WipEout Pure: epic ship building intro WipEout Pulse: epic upbeat music intro WipEout 2048: YOU CAN FEEL THIS ENERGY INSIDE *DUBSTEP INSENTIFIES*

The BEST intro in the series. Hands down.

@@unicorntomboy9736 That track is unbelievably hard and frustrating (especially the course 2 and 3 layouts on both directions), and plus that’s where the disaster happened, when F.E.I.S.A.R. used their super missiles to rock the track’s underground mining area, which killed pilots and left many others trapped there.

Sooo basically...it WAS a racing league (or much less of one), except that there was a "disaster" at Temtesh Bay (looks like an asshole of a track really) from a weapon malfunction which killed some pilots, also was controlled by a organization that probably ripped off Intel Corp.'s name after Pierre Belmondo passed on to promote "fan interest" as the races went on, only to be exposed later at some time in the 2160s which finally tore it all down. I know that Natasha won a championship, but were there any other known title winners? (I hope Daniel Johnson was one of em...they need to make a movie of this)

as far as I'm aware from reading on there, Auricom withdrew near the end in protest after winning a championship... whether or not Natasha was the pilot at the time, I'm not sure. based on what the wiki has, I don't think any other names were really mentioned, although it could stand to reason Natasha won more than once since Xios were among the top ranking teams alongside Piranha and Auricom. also, two notes: 1) HellfireWZ has a "Circuits From Hell" video detailing memories of "bastard courses" in the series... and Temtesh Bay Course 2 is described as "an absolute travesty of a circuit" for a few reasons. check it out to find out more :P 2) I've honestly felt the WipEout series should have a TV/Stream series covering the entire timeline. i mean, chronicling the longest standing teams would easily have enough room for several seasons of high speed racing and the occasional political drama behind each team.

Erickson Berney Temtesh Bay is the hardest track in the entire game, and story-wise, had a disaster in 2164 where because of an experimental missile by F.E.I.S.A.R., the resulting explosion caused the underground mining area to collapse, causing the deaths of six pilots and that everyone there was trapped for days.

Erickson Berney F.E.I.S.A.R.’s super-weapon in Fusion were super missiles which fire three missiles with far more explosive power than standard missiles. If all three missiles target one opponent, chances are they will get easily eliminated.

Erickson Berney Not exactly, it’s because they’re a conservative, but money-obsessed team that replaced AG Systems and that they performed so poorly throughout the F9000, only to have them involved in the money laundering scandals which doomed the company later on when the F9000 collapsed. Fortunately this gave birth to a new era of AG Systems.

Whether the games were considered good, bad or mediocre, all intros of the earlier WipEouts absolutely NAILED the tone, mood and aesthetic of the game to perfection.

@-Poka- I agree on Pulse, felt like there was a bit too much going on for it's own good. 2097 however was fantastic imo, it really expressed the gritty direction of the game. Pure was down to earth visually, yet really put into perspective how the events of Fusion meant that the league had to be uprooted and built back from the ground up.

I did kinda dig 2048's intro too, because it's technically the first wipeout game chronologically, so they showed the many advancements between the first car to the first AG racer. Didn't quite hold a candle to the older ones though imo, but I'm glad intros made a return, because HD/Fury didn't get one for some reason

This game...man...talk about a disappointment. I was so hyped for this after waiting for a sequel to Wipeout 3, and then Sony pinches this stinking turd right on my PS2. Having unique pilots and ships you can upgrade was a cool concept; but when the gameplay, visual style, and overall presentation falls woefully short of its predecessors on all accounts, nothing can save the game from failure.

Fusion was disgusting. The character affiliation coming to racing games these days was crap, the sound was a total failure & the intro... Just as bad as the one from Quantum Redshift. C'Mon. Characters constantly looking to the side to build tension? Seriously? For some this might be the first Wipeout they played, so they feel attached to it. I understand this. Good kid's memory. Stick with it! But for me this one was the last Wipeout I played.

I asked this to some one earlier but what did you think of HD? To me that had nothing on fusion except maybe the soundtrack. Though I still like fusion music. Was the approach of fusion a mirror like shadow of previous titles or were previous titles more like HD? I'll do some research but I'm curious. HD felt so bland
