One thing I love about that scene was that when Lucas is trying to justify what he did by basically saying to Magnus "You don't know what its like to lose someone, you would do the same thing." and he doesn't say anything about it, not until that line at the end. I really hope someone eventually animates that scene and cuts to Lucas's reaction, finally dawning on him that Magnus had every right to call him a coward but too much class to compare tragedies

@@scifikoala you know what though? He would have used a relic to bring back someone he loved. He wanted to. But Julia wouldn't want that. And that makes me cry every time.

When Travis first describes that Magnus is a carpenter Griffin offhandedly says ‘You made a *really good* chair’ Or something along those lines... and it’s a nice detail that Griffin incorporated it Or maybe Travis put that in his backstory or something idk, I just thought it was a neat detail

I love the little details! LIke the fact that baby magnus is wearing a dress, the pictures on Stevens wall, the execution of that elf guy. I really loved that transition of the poster with magnus on it going into the ravens roost rebellion. I love your work, I can't wait to see the rest c:

I couldn’t remember if Griffin had put the static in the right place or not, but thanks to this animatic my anxieties are cleared.

"I don't remember any of this" I know it was a joke but O W THAT H U R T S

This is, no exaggeration, the best (and my personal favorite) animatic for Magnus' Chalice scene; I adore the level of thought and detail you put into this, especially the looks back at the rebellion against governor Kalen and the incredible attention you paid to the expressions in this. The movement of the textures in the backgrounds and the colors bring it to life. By far, one of the most emotionally moving ones I've seen, even if it is a work in progress.

This is so freaking good!! The visuals of the rebellion, especially that scene of the execution, so so good. Its awesome to see your interpretation of what the rebellion was like. This is a very very good animatic

thank u so much!! i'm really glad u enjoyed it, i had a lot of fun actually making myself visualise the words griffin and travis were saying, it's a really good exercise in imagination!!

I love that in life he never saw that dog again but in death he spent honestly probably has a dozen life times together for a dog.

This is such a tragic scene, but also the way you draw magnus looks very sweet and nice

this is so impressive! you should be proud. i love the consistency of magnus's facial structure. the static in the beginning also really floored me! you made it so that my brain perceived indistinct shapes in the static as it changed and that was fucking rad as hell. correct me if im wrong but it looked like you just drew the static yourself instead of finding a static filter somewhere that u could use, and like... wow. that mustve been a lot of work. i think it paid off! i've been imagining the static as what you see on a TV that isnt tuned to any channel, and it never occurred to me to picture it more like pixelisation, where you can make out the vague structure of a scene but all the important parts are missing. i honestly think your version fits better, especially considering how Fisher had to give magnus a very simplified version of what happened when the hunger consumed a world, with the planes and all... like a very low resolution 144p video. incredible! (i hope that last long sentence made sense lol) im gonna subscribe after i post this comment and also go see if youve finished this in the meantime, but it is a massive undertaking so i wont expect some miracle lol. id be thrilled to see a finished version someday (& anything you might post in the meantime), but no pressure if you get overwhelmed! this is honestly so cool. thank you so much for sharing your progress! i hope youre having fun :D
