I totally understand what you're saying about traveling for work with kids. It is so hard. I am a social worker and do a lot of traveling and doing home visits for work. It is so hard to balance. My kids are now recently grown, and I miss them terribly. Typically I work from dark to light colors in my square.

Ah, yes, you do understand! My job is in the social work field as well. I know I will miss my kids when they are fully grown. Goodness, I desperately miss them being little right now!

I do my diamond painting in columns left to right and start with the first symbol on the left and gradually work my way along.

That's such a good and interesting question! I kit up in order of numbers in order then alphabet in order then symbols and I do each of my sections working through all the drills in that same order.

I love how you kit up this way too. So, your drills are ordered by number, alphabet, symbol, correct? Thus far, the answers to this question are great and so varied!

Hi! I love your WIP'n'Chats. You make these sessions so fun and interesting. As you know, I'm in Australia so I'm unable to help out by buying some of your paintings. I kit up in DMC order, but when placing drills onto the canvas I sections my canvas into 3" x 3" sections. I start placing drills by using the "symbol/number/alphabet letter that is on the top right hand side of my section. Then I work my way down that column for any symbols that have not been filled in and then do those. When the outside column is full, the I use the symbols along the bottom line of my section. If both these lines are all used up, but I have some symbols to still fill in, then I just do the rest using the most prevalent symbol first. Hope this makes sense. I don't know why I do it this way, but I do and when I try to change it up, I still find that about half way through a section I have gone back to the original way without even knowing when I changed back to my original way. I do know that I'm a bit "weird". 😵‍💫 I find it very interesting how different we all are. I look forward to catching up with you in the next chat. Stay strong, I'm sending calming vibes your way. Cheers!🦘

What a great description! It is fascinating how we all work a canvas differently. Our minds all process things so uniquely. Thanks for the calming vibes!

There was a guy on tiktok that burned a dac painting. 😳 I just can't imagine doing that and how bad the fumes from the resin drills would be! Just craziness! I usually start with the color that has the most in a section. For more confetti sections I'll pick whichever symbol stands out the most so hopefully I won't miss any. Lol.

I feel like a lot of people work like that. I used to always approach a section like that, but it’s [subconsciously] changed over the years. Wow! Talk about toxic fumes! I cannot believe he did that!
