When I realized it was actually the band itself who uploaded the full album I immediately purchased the whole discography. Love those CDs. A new metal genre has been created... the 'Wintersun-type metal'. The more you create, the more awesome it becomes... seriously, sky is the limit for you guys, and people are slowly but surely getting to you.

Biggest problem with this album is that it is very hard to go anywhere, because when winter ends it is again spring and another hour goes by

for me this is the band of this century ... i think i am not the only one who thinks that way. Thank you Wintersun

Albums like this is why Wintersun will most likely be my favorite band forever.

The word "epic" is thrown around too liberally these days, in my opinion. This album is the type of album it was meant for. Truly epic in every sense.

It's insane I've just found Wintersun last year and this is just my first time listening to this. As a 30yo finnish lifelong metalhead. I'm kicking myself. Then again, hearing something for the first time is always magical. I'm only 4 minutes in and I can't wait where Wintersun is taking me tonight.

quite a musical phenomenon between 20:21 and 23:30 - a unique blend of italian Renaissance rythm, Indian traditional sitar followed by an awseome metal guitar riff in a powerful and fierce splendor! thank you, guys!

I saw them last night, and these songs sounded just like the album. I was tripping out, because I thought that the guitars weren't plugged in, and it was a backing track. That is how good it sounded. It was my first time seeing them, and was amazed by the entire band's performance. The Forest Seasons truly is a masterpiece.

Yep, it sounds just like on CD. I got to see them in Los Angeles on the 23rd at The Mayan. There was so many times I could not believe how good they sounded and I even teared up they were that good. Very memorable night.

I bought the album after i heard all the songs on youtube because then i was convinced this album was worth buying and thought that this album would be even better in HQ(which it is!). Hopefully even more people will buy the album now they can give it a free listen. Anyhow this album is fucking amazing! Spring and winter are my absolute favorite songs of all!! Btw can't wait to see you guys live with Arch Enemy in The Netherlands in january :D the recent live video's ive seen are sooo goooood!!

Always takes a lot of listens to truly appreciate Wintersun. Especially Time and now this album. I didn't like it first listen. Liked it better by the third listen. Now, quite a few listens later, my hair is standing on end and I have goosebumps. This is a masterwork. Amazing how 12-15 minute songs can fly by and you hear different stuff every time you listen. I listened to Time I non-stop for like a year and it was always new to me.

Death-Sound of Perseverance did that to me. The more you listen the more you realise the masterpiece it is. Megadeth- Rust in Peace Exodus-Tempo of the Damned Warbringer-Worlds torn Asunder Children of Bodom-almost ever album for me personally This is working its way into that list

This is probably my favourite album overall. From all the albums I've listened, this is the one that just sticks. To me, this is perfection.

Bunch of people saying the album is wack... fine.. You can easily tell this dude Jari is a workhorse and the time he put into creating this is respectable in it's own right. Funny how we all basically walk in the snow in life. Sometimes it is deep and hard, but sometimes its light and sun shines beautifully trough the skies in cold winter days... But eventually our trails stop somewhere and slowly snow covers all like we never even where there... Snow has no memory.

Don't get me wrong. I'm glad there are enough people who LOVE Wintersun enough that this album was released because there can never be enough epic metal in the world. To me Forest Seasons is a collection of good ideas but the end result lacks focus. The songs could be half as long and the message would come across. But then there would have to be 4 more songs to be "a full length album"...

The last 8 lines of lyrics on this album rips my heart out and throws it at my feet as the cold arms of death embrace my soul. I then drown in the torrents and tears of despair as my vision fades to an ink-well nothingness. I just cant put it any other way. ❤

So...I've been living under a rock for several years now and I haven't been keeping up with any new music. I now regret that. I wasn't aware of this album when it came out and now I wish I would have been. It could have helped me out thru all of 2018. I needed it then. But, I need it now. So, this'll be MY album for the rest of 2019. I'm going to buy this as soon as I can afford it, but in the mean time I'll be back here for this vid. Btw, the artwork is GORGEOUS! Everything about this is so beautiful and an absolute comfort to my angry soul right now. Thank you ever so much! **infinite hugs** :D

@jasper426 20:23 to 23:41 is a good example of good motif development which is all over classical/baroque music in many forms and spanning whole compositions. If Jari could drop the pop choruses and jarring transitions and focus on those composition components instead (and he clearly can), then you could compare him to Vivaldi! And I say this out of love since this is by far my favorite Wintersun album. Jari has the skills to compose true greatness in my opinion! Cheers!

I can understand why some people would think this album is imperfect but I don't really understand those people who thought it was a bad album. I mean compare this to 90% of the metal that's out there these days... it's definitely got wayy more going for it. I personally think it's great.

So much this. I always have the feeling that some parts (especially in autumn, even if the song is otherwise great) are not very true to the concept of the record, some parts feel a little bit dragged out to much, an there are moments in which I find the songstructure to be a little bit alienating. It is not perfect, but some of the arrangements and the insane attention to detail here make this record still a fucking masterpiece. Is it best record of all time? Nope. Is it the best of the year? By far, even with it's flaws. I think most people are just not into this strange melo-death with blackmetal aesthetics. Because objectivly I can't think of that much to criticise here.

Because it's boring, uninspired, and the mix is all over the place. It's mediocre overall, but given the hype around everything Wintersun does it's just a huge disappointment. Not a surprise though to anyone familiar with Jari's antics over the years. I was hoping I would be wrong and it would be great, but this is pretty much exactly what I expected.

compared to 90% of melodic death metal that was out in the last 2 years this album is mediocre at best. Last Whispered is outstanding when compared to this, same with last Swallow The Sun and Insomnium.

Stillness Solutions Besides Loneliness it is mediocre garbage. Raise your standarts up a bit and when compared to other Wintersun work it is complete utter shit. Not loneliness though , that shit is perfect.

Words fail to describe how epic this album actually is. Everything here is perfect (especially "The Forest That Weeps", which is my absolute favorite track). I believe the drum tracks are sampled, although they do sound very "man-made". And if they're not, then the programming is spot on! The melodies and arrangements are heart-wrenching and I could not get tired of listening to this album so far (maybe not as often as I used to after my initial purchase, though, but the pleasure is still the same every time). Thank you so much, Jari. But please, PLEASE try not to have us wait too long for your next masterpiece!

Well done guys! I've been listening to Wintersun ever since 2008, and I've been surprised and overwhelmed every time you release a new album because each one is so much better than the last. Keep it up, and come back to Chicago soon!
