For anyone wondering, the odd sounding screams at 1:51 is "Only way out is through the window of dreams" played backwards. One of the many things that makes this my favourite Wintersun song :D

From Wikipedia: "In 1997, Mäenpää served in the Finnish military as part of his national defense duty, during which he contracted tuberculosis. The diagnosis was late, and Mäenpää required surgery to remove part of his lung, hospitalizing him for months. The song "Beautiful Death" would later be inspired by this event."

One of my favourite choruses in all of metal, the brutality, the melancholy, the melody, twisted, powerful, incredible. This is truly my joint favourite metal album of all time, my other favourite would definitely be Hatebreeder

It's so fucking refreshing to see a guy to whom music is everything. Jari loves and honours all of his music. Not just the latest viable sale. And the love shines through the music. Thank you Wintersun!

"Extreme" metal is an acquired taste. When I first started listening to metal, it was bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden. Today I can't stomach that kind of stale vanilla music at all, but love bands like Wintersun and Foretoken and so on. Your taste in music evolves over time.

I first heard of Wintersun through a RuneScape video someone made in 2006, where Starchild was being used as a track. It's been pure love for it ever since Beautiful death is perfection in every sense of the word, and my favourite song of all time! The way the music evolves and gets better as winter comes and snow begins to fall.. it's magic I've owned the original Album since nearly the beginning and I'd give anything to see the band perform. Thanks for the 2.0 uploads!!

Man, could it have been Sosolid2k? Because that's where I heard Starchild for the first time. And yeahh it was around 2007/2008 I believe when I started playing. Epic sharing the same nostalgia for this music

This is the best guitar tone of all time. Especially combined with his playing. And over the decades this has actually become possibly my favorite song on this album, which means my favorite song ever

0:45 one of the best riffs in music history.

Can't describe the awesomeness of the scream right before the solo (I'm not ready to DIIIIIE). Sounds like he's tearing his vocal chords apart.

Such a masterpiece. It is the darkest song of him and you can hear the desperation since he actually was afraid to die from tuberculosis that time. [Edit] He actually wrote the song after he had tuberculosis but it was inspired from that experience.

No. He had tuberculosis in 1997. This song was LATER inspired by the experience, he wasn't afraid he was going to die at the time he wrote and recorded it.

Those interpretations of "They will try to take everything away from me" are perfection. This part is insane!!!!! 3:12 - 4:15.

i was between 10 and 13 as my tutor for school offert me to translate a english song i like. I already was really into metal and wintersun was huge influenze for me, this was my fav song at the time so i choose it. Needless to say she was kinda disturbed... still love the song and the lyrics ^^ Thank you wintersun your songs, they will be always a part of my life. (sry, my english is still bad xD)

Last year I went to concert of in that moment one my favourite bands Arch Enemy... From that moment when Wintersun started to play one band was added to this list 😍🤘

Every Lyric Written in this Album speaks about very familiar feelings and thoughts I have had and do now this day

That synth melody at 1:43 always reminds me of a tune I was trying to make in my MIDI HS class. Except mine sounded like shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! Beautiful song. Thanks for upload, I'll put this on my repeat playlist too in hopes to help your revenue. :)

Just bought a mp3 player with 32gb simcard slot for my work van and will be picking up all the Wintersun albums and dumping them on there. Wintersun is so good, they deserve to get paid.

So who else goes flying off through the universe at 4:45? I don't know of any more epic moment in metal music

This song is just pure brilliance! So powerful and emotional

This just proves it to me even more that telecasters sound killer for metal, that single coil bridge pickup sounds snappier and more aggressive than 99% of the active or high gain pickups the djent guys have been overusing. It sounds organic, you can hear the actual string, I like that.

I think it is a reference to the song "Death and the Healing". The dead man representing "Death" and the glowing from behind the tree representing the "Healing". I am not too sure but I read somewhere it is something like that. Not 100% sure though! :)
