Lonely Moon drowns in tears but Starmachine 2000 appears out of the singularity and a Star evolves. Moon meet Star and cruise through the universe forever together. (Since we're almost certain that the universe is expanding and not collapsing, the cosmological constant is too week to pull the Universe together again? did i get that right?)
I made this Lego Animation with a potato laptop screen camera for the Starmachine 2000 video and it was never shown in its entirety, i woke up this morning and the new moon was crisp over the tree tops and it reminded me about this animation and that i always wanted to put music to it. The song was originally made for the Twinsters Documentary that i composed parts of the score for, (Twinsters is available on Netflix). They choosed another version of this song so it was never used, yesterday i dug up the demo, made a new a melody and added some other sounds and synched up the video to the track. The video was originally filmed in 4:3 format so i made some punky editing to get it into 16:9. I kind of like the potato look and imperfect finish it has a kind of potato camera patina that is hard to fake. Hannes crunched the video through a clarity filter et Voila. :)
Another fun fact, like i said, its filmed with a laptop camera inside a laptop screen but the camera movement is achived by having the hole laptop sitting in a lego technic construction. So i could move the lego one pinhole for every shot and get those camera movements to be somewhat linear.
By the way: The theme in this animation has nothing to do with the Twinsters Documentary, the Documentary is about Sam who suddenly finds a very special friendship but its only a coincidence that this animation was used to the same music today!
We will try to make as much of these episodes as possible to add some music to the MMX build but we will not make it every week, the Wednesday videos will be weekly, but these soundtrack videos will occur now and then, Enjoy This Week's Soundtrack!
Have a nice day everyone!
And By the way, remember that Talent is completely overrated, if you want something its just about putting in the hard work :) Talent has precisely nothing to do with results.
Haha,
Need another Cat Poster Inspirational quote? There is a good one in the Lego movie somewhere.
Martin

I like to imagine that Martin relaxes from the stress of the MMX with… labor-intensive composing, performing, mixing, and stop motion animating.

If I’m not mistaken, Martin originally created the stop motion video for StarMachine2000, but didn’t use it in its entirety for the music video. You can see snippets of the stop motion video in the StarMachine2000 music video from several years ago. Moon And Star fits this animation so very well. It is among my favourite tracks Wintergatan has produced.

Not sure if you read comments on older videos. But if you do I wanted to say this song is one of my favorites and as an Astronomer it has inspired my own creative works. We recently celebrated the 100th year anniversary of the Mount Wilson 100 inch Telescope here in Southern California, I used this song as a backdrop while I worked... If you know anything about that telescope your music is ABSOLUTELY fitting. The telescope has a very industrial/ mechanical feel to it with lots of gears and rivets everywhere and a very heavy sense of history with a healthy dose of mystery and fantasy. Its hard to describe but being in that dome and working with that grand old telescope while listening to your music was very literally out of this world. By the way we (my family and I) are HUGE fans and cannot wait for MMX to go on world tour! Keep up the magnificent work!

@@JustSilen Perhaps people who are prone to photo-triggered seizures ought to be careful what they watch. Not everybody on KZread gives epileptic warnings, and I’ve never seen them on TV. These folks need to be careful for their own benefit, since it isn’t possible to expect everybody else to be careful for them. It’s kind of like people with peanut allergies: they can’t expect the world to stop eating peanuts on their behalf.
