There’s just something so aesthetically pleasing about “older” pickups. I’m a dodge guy, but any older truck, Chevy, Ford, Toyota, etc. idk if it’s just me, but they all look better then the new ones. Even a little beat up.

If you find that the furnace isn’t keeping up with the heat loss of the canvas you could make (or have a seamstress make) a thermal cover for the canvas that snaps or Velcro’s on. Four wheel camper makes one for their slide in campers that is insulated and quilted, but something as simple as sewing some wool blankets together can help hold more heat in

What if you tried to insulate the canvas with some kind of light weight insulation padding on the inside. Maybe you could Rivet some snaps along the borders and the canvas, and then find some kind of insulated barrier that you could snap onto that during the winter time. Just a thought. You might make winter camping more accessible to the masses if you can come up with some kind of insulated interior gadget or kit. Very cool video though Mav. You’re quite brave to just buy a pop up camper and sleep in it the same night.

If you run30 synthetic blend, it might help quiet the engine. I’m a believer in it, run 40 in the summer 30 in the winter. You get the thickness of the oil and protection of the metals with the synthetic. I have a 92 Explorer, feels like I have more compression too. I have 200198 miles original engine….she is running strong. She was my daily driver to work. The lifters aren’t tapping as much too. I use Valvoline. Change it every 4500.

Agree with the above, and also sounds like she's got an exhaust leak.

It's crazy that everything on that beauty stills works. That's a killer deal for a topper that size! Thanks for sharing. Semper Fi from an old Marine

That camper is cool. Its amazing it all works. Great find. I see you and your fishing buddy on a future excursion. I'd probably fix the cab heat and that lifter noise. It's always worse when it's cold.

That camper is AMAZING. If you want to make it better for winter, invest in canvas or tarps to go over all of it and give you that extra layer of insulation / protection.

I'm cold just watching this lol. This is an incredibly sweet setup, it reminds me how fun the bug is/was. You should take this to that one parking garage just to have the security roll up. lol

If that tapping noise is a hydraulic lifter tapping, try some Liqui Moly Hydraulic Lifter Additive... should quiet her right down man. It's really good stuff !
