OMG this doll is STUNNING! I wish I could get one. Odile is also one my new favorite face sculpts and I really want one, but waiting to see if there will be a size difference between collector and playline. Steffie is also another favorite along with Mackie, Aphrodite, and Teen Skipper.

Nice selection of fave face sculpts! Those are in my top 10/20 Barbie sculpts as well (except for Aphrodite, I have personal beef with that sculpt lol). By the we way, the upcoming Dreamtopia Odiles will be the same size as the collector version, Angel Kent himself confirmed on his Instagram.😊

@@3verajwell, I hope I don’t offend anyone for my reasoning. You see, Aphrodite is actually made up of 2 different face sculpts: the Mackie and Lara. Bill Greening confirmed this when he was interviewed about the Barbie Basics line back in the day. Mackie and Lara by the way are my top 2 face sculpts. The upper part of the face is Mackie and the lips are from Lara. But with that said I just feel the Aphrodite is nowhere on the same level as those 2. I feel like she’s not as great/interesting or aesthetically pleasing as both of those sculpts. And really when I see the Aphrodite she just irritates me. I don’t know, I can’t explain it. But yeah I was never a fan of this sculpt😅

@@asherbarbara9 I get it and you’re absolutely entitled to feel that way. No judgment from me. The reason I enjoy the Aphrodite though is because of the fact it has the Mackie head and Lara lips. I love the Mackie so much - it’s top 2 in my book, but sometimes I do wish it had an open mouth smile and the Aphrodite provides that. I wonder what other sculpts are combined from others? (And off topic but now I’m thinking about it) idk why but I always thought the Steffie was like a “redesign” of the Mod TNT/Nostalgic face sculpt. Sure the head is thinner and the eyes are painted differently, but it’s like they decided to do the lips without the gap. Does that make sense?

@@3veraj Well, I do know one more spliced face sculpt, that would be Pazette. That one was made from the MOTM Nichelle (upper part) and Lara (lips). They also spliced the Generation Girl and made a closed mouth version of that (though I don’t know where the mouth is from). That GG sculpt was only used for the playline through and it was never produced in collector size. As for the Steffie, I think the reason why you’re seeing some resemblance with the TNT face is because that sculpt is actually made by the same sculptor: Martha Armstrong-Hand. She was a prolific Mattel sculptor back in the day. She usually worked on Mattel’s baby doll brands like Baby First Step. She’s only made a few Barbie sculpts but they all had the same cute, wide-eyed, chubby-cheeked look. Aside from Steffie and TNT, she also made the OG Skipper, and the Spanish sculpt.😊

Don't feel bad @ price 😉❤️💗 I paid( I was birthday rich at the time) a New PlayStation price plus shipping from France for the 2020 Blue Cromatic culture doll . I saw her in 2022...and needed her ! I really want to put her on a made to move body and play with her...but her price guilts me out of it 😵‍💫

Once again I’m amazed at the incredibly stunning dolls that you have been able to find for your collection 🤩🤩🤩 This Odile doll is one of my favorite sculpts and this one is proof of that beauty😍😍😍 She is absolutely gorgeous and I wish I could have both of them. But with the way that second hand market is, that’s never going to happen for me 🫤🫤🫤 The 80s inspired dress is lovely and the iridescent fabric is just as beautiful as she is. It’s my favorite effect on everything ❤❤❤ But as for convention exclusives, I’m not really a fan. Just let me buy a doll and be done. And it’s a shame that they aren’t on fully articulated bodies, considering how much it costs to go to the show. All of the premium dolls should be on articulated bodies, and only playline on a basic body type. Otherwise, I just really like seeing the different dolls over the years and I’ve been enjoying collecting what I love 💕 💕💖💖

She looks amazing! How much was it originally cost for attendees of the convention? well unfortunately us from the other side of the world might not get to go like ever so I don't think I'll ever be getting my hands on any of them. But they're lovely, I don't mind the convention exclusive doll idea because that comes with the idea for platinum labels n such.

Thanks I’m glad you like her.😊 She was free for all the attendees and they could choose either to get the blonde or AA version, even before the exclusive doll was revealed. The tickets were like $495 to $595, I don’t remember. But I do know next year’s NBDCC tickets are already sold out.
