Winter Camping/ Snowshoeing On a WILDERNESS Mountain | Solo Backpack Adventure!

Hi Guys,
I go snowshoeing/ backpacking in the deep snows of the Mount Rose wilderness in the Sierra Nevada mountains for an over night solo trip. I make a winter snow camp at 9 Thousand + feet in the deep snow of the Carson Range/ Sierra Nevada Range, dig a large fire pit/ start a fire using only my new Ferro rod flint and make a delicious steak/ potato / vegetable dinner. I tell a few stories and also talk about the Ponderosa Ranch land that I am on from the famed TV series Bonanza with Michael Landon and Lorne Green!
Thanks for Watching!
Keep Hiking!

Hi Chris, I want to start by saying thank you for taking us along with you and also for all the hard work you do for the videos. You had me crackin' up after your first fall backward while you were shoveling. At first, I was like, "Oh, no, Chris, then I heard you laugh. I was like, thank God he's okay, then I started laughing then when the chair kept sinking on one side, and you kept fallin backward I was laughing and amazed at the same time that both times you didn't spill your plate of food that would have been horrible after all that hard work making it. But actually, it wouldn't have gotten dirty, just cold because of the snow, lol then the face plant in the snow while chasing the water bottle. I wish I'd seen that in person because I would have fallen down laughing, but I am glad you didn't get hurt. That sure was a beautiful scenery you had for eating your breakfast. I love watching you cook your such a natural. I never got to watch that show, Bonanza. It went off air before I was born, and for the reruns, I was always outside playing. I don't remember that show. 🤔 Thank you for being so silly and down to earth. You're the man. Stay Awesome! 🤗 HUGS 🤗

I really enjoy your vids and appreciate all the hard work you put into producing them…❤️🇨🇦 Addendum: Camping IN a SNOW covered wilderness…..in limited light as the days are so short….is NOT my thing, so Koodos to you for doing it and bringing us all along on your adventure! Hopefully the bears are in hibernation mode and are well armed to protect yourself. You certainly have really awesome equipment and you’re an awesome , good cook! But you need to bring a lid for your pan to make sure that your veg are cooked through. You’re hiking alone, so I do Hope you ALWAYS carry a GPS / satellite locator beacon and have solid , reliable cell coverage on your adventurous travels as David P. of Missing Persons would recommend; , especially when you’re cooking delicious meals… and animals will be drawn to your delicious cooking smells. STAY SAFE! PS…A little HP or BBQ sauce would be perfect on that lovely steak!

Great video as usual, Chris! Some newbie questions: how do you follow the trail if the snow smooths everything over? Did you just keep the sausages and hash browns in your bear can? Also, it looks like you usually carry just 64 oz of water on your overnighters, even when there isn't a water source. Has this worked well for you? Finally, would be curious to see a video of how you clean up a steak and potatoes meal without a water source. Thanks again for the fun videos; these keep me going when I can't be out camping myself!

This is my second time watching this one. Your very lucky Chris because you are one of my very few channels that continues reshowing your videos as recommendation and playing. All my other channels constantly redirect me to the opposite type videos such as God's flat plane earth then they put a pseudo scientism video next. Your videos are nice because you have a innocent nerdy fun type thing about you. And in this complicated wacky world it's nice to fall asleep to these. The Bigfoot stories are the best but wish you could make more of them as I've blown through your whole collection in past year super fast.

This was a very entertaining episode and almost 'edge of your seat' status when you flipped backwards - certainly glad to know you're okay after that. I suspect it's really hard to walk in that deep snow let alone the snow shoes. You go out on a limb for us Chris, or should I say "out on a snowflake"? Kidding aside, enjoyed watching and learning. The fire you made was GREAT it was kinda 'from scratch' homemade fire. Good dinner it looked like! It's too bad the water bottle incident wasn't filmed - perhaps you'll consider filming a similar situation for a future video

Beautiful scenery. Chris be careful.Get you a trail buddy. Dog. One that loves snow.i sure hope you carry a satellite phone.also tell someone where you are going. I've not been in a lot of snow in my lifeits Beautiful but down south it turns to mush. I loved the snow in NC. But didn't like driving in it. We stayed the night with friends. One time we were in south Carolina and bout an hour my ex now got a call his step mom had died.so I drove another 12 hours.bk to Ala for funeral..we lived in Mississippi. But Beautiful mts out west. Wish I had traveled when I was young. I'm 68 .how old are you Chris. ? You really like what you do I can tell.
