As a midwesterner as well, I always appreciate your ideas especially around wintertime magick! Because as difficult as winter can be, it is also equally beautiful if only we decide to look ❄️🥰✨

The first skirt I ever made was out of some cotton shirting. I’ve been wearing it for a decade and when it started to tear I was devastated. Then I discovered visible mending. I have patches and stitches everywhere on it now. Sometimes I do embroidery. Sometimes appliqué. Sometimes I do sashiko-style strengthening stitches to take a weak bit of fabric and give it more structure. I made a patch pocket shaped like a cauldron. Inspired by someone on KZread, I chose a different color each year and use that for either patches or thread or both. It’s a lovely way to track my repairs of a thing I love. This year is grey. Last year was red. Next year is blue. Many shades if I want. I can see the lifetime of repairs in the piece. It makes me so happy. 😂❤

I miss having snow during Winter sooo much! I still live in the same city I was born in, but because of global warming we get rain now, and very rarely snow.😞

sadly we can relate in CANADA! Used to snow from oct-may when I was a kid, my grandma says it now rains down there and they only got a few days of snow. This makes me so incredibly sad

In an unbelievable chain of coincidence and synchronicity I am finally opening my heart and soul to the creativity and calling put upon a shelf years ago as I have suffered through pain of multiple life changing events - all for the worse. I have been broken, beaten down, and lost but I am rebuilding slowly, surely and finally within the past couple of weeks the healing has reached my creative core encouraging me to move forward in my quest combining curiosity, wonder and creativity and my need to express myself. I have been entertaining the idea of reading tarot again, taking up fiber arts again, and reaching out to spirit for guidance and teaching. I was called to review some Tarot readings, called to healing vibrations from crystal music and this morning my grown daughter and I exchanged gifts. She gave me your Art Magick Deck, and a book about accepting, understanding and nourishing your inner Goblin. I started watching this video to get to know the person who created the Art Magick Deck a little and just now, at 10:55 you talk about tapping into your inner goblin. My mind is blown, but I am sure I am heading down the right path. How could I possibly ignore all of this coming together as it has. I am really enjoying this video and look forward to viewing more. I love how joy is personified as you chat and laugh and teach. Thank you!

Process painting feels a lot like free-form weaving. Just starting with a basic black warp (since that's actually technical) and for the weft, using whatever scraps of yarn come to hand out of the scrap bucket... or even knotting random yarns together into a scrap ball! Could even do a scrap ball based on the winter palette.

I love this! The visable mending reminds me of kintsugi, or the Japanese practice of mending broken pottery with gold.

I also live in a part of my country where it is winter around six months of the year with ALOT of snow then two months of super hot desert Summer weather.

Burning things ritual: Have had a completely $hit year in 2023. Completely. We’re going to be burning all the bad. But we’re also collecting some of our favorite roving (we spin and do fiber crafts) to burn as a sacrifice for a softer year in 2024. Literally. Something soft. And something important to us. I have black alpaca that feels almost like silk. Some of it is going in the pile. Here’s hoping.
