Ivan Kebabremover I think the reason that Ireland remained neutral was because of the civil war only 20 years prior. The country needed time to rebuild and stabilise and many Irish people hated the British so siding with them would have been very unpopular. Also with the IRA terrorising many citizens the country would probably have struggled switching to a war time economy and mobilise a army willing to fight with the British army. If Ireland had been independent for a couple more decades then I think they would have joined the war. However Ireland did allow Britain to use Irish air space and sea waters.

My great grandfather became an armed merchant marine and fought even after Malaya was occupied by the Japanese in 42, my grandfather often said that he never see him for so long that he thought he was dead and the only thing that he kept saying when questioned about his loyalty to his homeland was "at least the British dont force me to build a railway with little to no food".

As an American high school student, I am proud to go to a school named after the great Winston Churchill. Go Lancers!!! A lot of people at my school don't even know who was Winston Churchill, but seeing a statue of this great man every school day is something that I don't take for granted.

He would. He wouldn't pander on election or pander to companies and big money. You'd be able to count on him to properly deliver it, even though the man would likely have considered the EU a great tool to be reformed and not abandoned.

I am super nationalistic to America. And usually hate Europe and their leaders. But Churchill was the real shit. He’s the leader I wish America had today

I watch this video, and it brings a tear to my eye, thinking how hard Churchill , how hard our soldiers fought to defend our great land , our great island, and for it to become a mess of people , English people not immigrants, English people fighting with one and other.... We need someone like Churchill, like him to lead our country to greatness again , we wouldn’t be in the situation we are in if we had some like Churchill, problem is , Churchill had balls of steel, now a days people , our “leaders” are weak and are nothing like Churchill .... Churchill cared deeply about this country , everyone in this video, and I mean everyone you can see from England to North Africa ,they cared deeply about this country, and now it’s a mess, a bloody catastrophe... But there’s is nothing we can do, except hope one Day, we will regain the glory of a old past... I sit and watch this video, and it brings a tear to my eye, thinking how hard Churchill , how hard our soldiers fought , everyone of that era fought for the World as a whole, but most of the world is in tatters as well..... We just need to hope and to never give up on that hope, never , never , never give up....on hope.....

Florian Geyer Churchill cared deeply for his country , that I can tell you without going to the media. Churchill didn’t hat the English , that’s just ridiculous, he was fucking English , I bet you don’t hate your people , I be to you love your people , and yes , I reluctantly feel helpless as idiots Parliament do shit at the job, and I don’t like watching England become well not England and I’m almost positive that Churchill would be turning in his grave At what Britain has become, because I know I would be, also you don’t need to bring Brexit up, do you , it’s not like we’re just gonna go and say , you know what fuck Brexit let’s stay in the EU, We would look like cowards , not able to show the rest of Europe that Europe isn’t the world and that there is the rest of the world....
