Exactly, the price paid by Ukrainian people does not matter at all, as well as achievable result for Ukraine! West asks Ukraine to commit suicide, but in the process asks Ukraine to deliver as much damage to Russia as possible. Otherwise they would call for negotiations long time ago. There were opportunities for Ukraine to negotiate in the past, but every time Ukraine has chosen not too, every time worsening it’s position. For example, (1) if there would be no coup and following hostile rhetoric about banning Russian language and expelling Russians from Sevastopol - Ukraine would have kept Crimea and parts of Donbas. (2) If Ukraine would have implemented Minsk accord - it would have kept Donbas and other areas, peacefully integrating it into Ukraine. (3) If Ukraine would have not walked away at the advice of the West from negotiations in March 2022 it would have kept southern regions (now occupied by Russia)… all of the above was done at advice of the west. People of Ukraine need to just understand where would following western advices take their country… following a clear trend based on following past advices

This was a long war from the beginning since the war actually started in 2014, and the reason is that Russia is a superpower and Ukraine is not. So, a long war of attrition could be seen even in 2014. The question is how long the West can keep Ukraine supplied? But, in the end, a long war of attrition is in the interest of the West since this would give NATO time to adequately prepare for a war with Russia if it becomes necessary. Only through superiority in conventional warfare would keep NATO countries safe from a nuclear war with Russia :)

There is a close limit to how long Ukraine can fight the war. Ukrainan military is "empty". Nobody fight a long war begging for weapons every day. It is quite obvious that very soon the popularity of the expensive war will drop among the taxpayers of EU and America. And the politicans of those countries would be forced to cut military aids to Ukraine. Everyone knows what is next.

The way Ukraine uses drones can't affect the battlefield one bit, hitting civilian targets in Moscow and ships in harbor is just going to feel like little pinpricks when the real job is done on the front itself.

  • @Animalignis

Unlike Russia, Ukraine does not attack civilians. They have more than enough military Russian targets to destroy. Most Ukrainian suicide drones die in a Russian ammunition depot, factory, bridge, ship or vehicle. - But they rarely die alone. Tens of thousands of Ukrainian drone operators work daily at the frontline monitoring the battlefield, dropping grenades, directing artillery, and kamikaze. - Doing the "real job", - bit by bit, tank by tank, ruZZian by ruZZian. By the way, how does the mighty Russian Black Sea Fleet fare against the Ukrainian non-existent fleet?

The ecomonic aspect of this conflict was brought up several times. I wish that the possibility of America re-opening its energy sector could be one of the most advantageous economic actions the US could do to reduce Russia's cash flow, and reduce costs for the US and NATO allies. The "Green" agenda and Ukraine war cannot exist at the same time.
