Wings and Drums on the Char-Griller 980 Gravity Fed Charcoal Grill!
Ойын-сауық
I made some awesome wings and drums today on the new Gravity 980. I even got interrupted with a work call and was able to turn down the temp for a bit while I took care of that!
Ingredients
- Chicken wings and drums
- Your favorite rub
- Your favorite bbq sauce
Directions
- Optionally separate wingette and drumette
- Coat wings/drums with your favorite dry rub
- Heat up grill to 350F-400F
- Place chicken on grill for 15 minutes
- Flip chicken, move them around
- Continue to cook for another 15 minutes or until internal temp is close to 165F
- Coat chicken with your favorite bbq sauce, place back on grill
- Continue to cook and let tacky up until chicken is over 165F internal temp.
- Enjoy!

Wowzers! I am hungry now!
The beauty and operating of that grill just AWES me! Can't wait to get one, once our Lowes or whomever get them in stock. Seems to be a hot item right now.

I'll probably do chicken wings at least once every week or two - easy and tasty!! Thanks for watching!
Hello from Australia. How much do you fill the hopper for a one hour cook? And how long do you need to let it heat up before cooking? Thanks
What fire starter should I use?
Looks great! What did the dogs eat?
Gravity fed CharGriller looks really interesting and the chicken looked great. I do have to say I really appreciated you putting your chicken on a plate/cutting board to eat over. lol So many youtube backyard barbequers hover over the tray of food while eating and then put the half eaten food down on top of or next to food they are serving others. My cringe goes off when that happens, it's like tasting food from the spoon then turning around to stir the food with the same spoon. Nice job.

Thanks for watching! Haha, I'll tell you i'm guilty of that as well, but recently i've been trying to at least 'plate mine up' unless i'm in a rush to get a video out.
I just bought this grill over the weekend. Did you put the wood you used in the ash pan?
Looks like a good replacement for my traeger pellet grill as I do not like it at all. I think you’re nabor was over smoking his dinner 😎

and don't forget to get a 6 pack as well.
Those looked great! How even is the temp across the grate - left to right, front to back, etc.? Thanks!

Hey Ross - thanks for watching! It's super even. I did a biscuit test video you should check out!
Nice cook. Wings came out great. Have you tried some kosmos q rub? Their killer bee chipotle tossed in their cherry habanero bbq sauce is absolutely insane.

Hey Mars - thanks for watching! I've never tried kosmos q - i'll have to try it one day though!
Do you have any issues with your temperature fluctuating? I just fired mine up today for the first time to do the initial burn and the temp was was set to 400 and it was going up as high as 460 consistently

Hey there Ramiro - thanks for watching! I'm not seeing any fluctuations on mine - make sure that fan flap is hanging freely and isn't getting hung up anywhere maybe?
How did it hold temp with the wind and cold you mentioned In the beginning?

Hey NIck - thanks for watching! It held temps close to the target for the entire cook!
How long did you cook the wings and how much charcoal did you end up having to use?

This was a weird cook that got interrupted by a work call. I'd say under an hour at 350 would be normal. I don't believe I used very much charcoal on this one.
was the skin crispy?
Who says no to wings?? Those looked great. Where to I place my order?? I'll take 10. Nice cook. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for watching Howard! It was a little on the soft side since I didn't get a chance to finish the 2nd half of time at 350 thanks to my work call. I was still happy though lol!
I never knew that we are supposed to cut the wings like that.
What state do you live in? It's super green there. Dry as a popcorn fart here in ND.

Hey Brad, they're slowly coming in stock, but selling as soon as people find em I believe. You can check Lowe's for the blue one or Menards has a red/maroon one (they're identical other than the color). Hope you find one soon!
great camera work, gorgeous backdrops. Try to talk a bit louder and with a bit more 'emotion', like you're on tv hosting a cooking show (which you essentially are doing, on yt). It's a good amount of talking (not the non-stop blabbering of some other channels), you do a good job of letting the food and scenery shine, explaining the essentials but not blabbering nonstop.
