I have watched dozens of wing foil tutorials from pros and amateurs and one thing they all say is turn upwind or turn downwind but they don’t say how. You are the first to say turn upwind by, “bringing the wing back to your back shoulder”, and that is how you get the nose of the board to turn upwind. Good on ya.

Suggestion ... video about starting to turn, in taxi mode but powered. Most video, if so, show turning when on your knees or when standing up but stationary turning the board with your feet a d then powering up again. Most jump to turns when already being able to be on foil. Also most only show the jibe but when beginner you don't want to loose ground each time when turning. Lucky I now manage to go upwind (most of the time) but when I fall and need to get back on the board, find balance, flip over the wing, and by doing so I loose too much ground.

Around minute one you give a tip for going upwind: pulling the wing towards the back shoulder and holding handles towards the back of the wing, like in windsurfing. But don't you find it's really exhausting and causing shoulder and knee tendinitis, much more than in windsurfing, or do I miss something ? Does it work better with such and such foils, such and such wings ?

Hi nice vid except you brushed over some critical manoeuvres im not sure how to do, so you show the jibe from starboard to port switching your feet after the jibe, but you didn't show us how to then switch jibe back, do you switch feet before or after the jibe, intuitively I prefer before, but then being also goofy I loose structure on the toeside going into the jibe.

I switch feet before. If you are loosing structure bend your legs more and keep weight forward, head downwind - keep practising!
