    One important thing to notice is that you are using HM 86 mast, which is really thick at 20mm and meant for giant wings & slower riding. If you would compare your aluminium masto to HM 85 (17mm), it would be faster & better glide. And still stiffer than aluminum. I upgraded from V2 aluminum > v2 carbon > 85 HM and the 85HM was biggest jump in performance. So if it's downwind/wave riding and good glide you are looking for, go for 85 HM (there is also a rumour about upcoming, thin 85 HM mast...). PS. I would recommed getting Gong foil nuts with attached carbon bar, so much faster to assembly than individual nuts ;)

    Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, I nearly went for the H.M. 85 but wanted to use bigger wings 115cm and 125cm, so I went for the 86cm and spoke to Patrice the bear, and as he told me, you lost about 1/2 a knot in speed . I can live with that .We get very small bumps most of the time, so bigger wings suit my size. I keep meaning to buy the nuts and keep forgetting evertime I order haha 😄 Have a awesome week Mikaelm 😎

    Thanks, my man . Yes, I heard about the alu masts a week or so ago but promised to keep it to myself . I was hoping you would jump on them, maybe a 75cm for the sup dw board . It looks like a great mast . Have a great week all the best to you and the Boston massive wing crew.

    If you use the Fluid MH foil then you need the HM mast as with the ALU mast the foil becomes nervous as the mast isn't stiff enough and lets the foil tips move too much.

    That's interesting to know I did not experience that with the curve h or curve v2 . I really would like a fluid h l or a veloce v2 in large next, but saving for a dw board may take a while, lol Thanks for the interesting comment and watching good winds👍

    Go for veloce as Fluid mh is rather nervous and fast reacting changing its' direction

    Nice video! Allways enjoy to watch your videos! I have a question for you... I'm thinking of buying a HM carbon mast and a titanium fuselage. I've been having problems with the threads of the normal aluminium pro fuselage and I would like to know if you think the titanium fuselage has a much stronger and durable thread. Thanks for your help!

    I did not have many issues with the aluminium, tbh , I used marine grease and did not over tighten screws and changed the screws for new ones every few months it's cheaper For tightening, I use the T torx bar but only use the short side to tighten, and that stops me from over tightening . And unscrew using long side for more leverage. The hm mast is stiff, good for big wings and big guys, and a huge luxury . Titanium fuse will take a bit more tightening but it's usally a damaged thread on screw from over tight screw . Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I hope this is of some help.

    Can you recommend a gong all round board for me. Intermedia level. 195 cm. 95 kg. Looking at the mint fsp 2x 130 liter.

    Hi Ken, thanks for watching. Try to go for the pro models worth the little extra cash imo. I'm 95kg to 100kg with my wet kit on, and I dropped to a 95l lemon and love it, but all I want to do is flag out on wind swell .I think i would be ok on a 75l but our winds drop off with no warnings and having a body weight board is good to get back to shore in yhese conditions if you are intermediate as in your getting 90% gybes and starting tacks maybe 100 sessions in ,and you may want to go for a 95litres board or a 105 litre if you get a lot of lighter winds. Model would depend on what you want to do rides swell or bigger waves or jump go mint for pure all round and easy lemon is still easy but more wave focused . 120L is still a big board for your 95kg, and a 105 will be easy after a dozen sessions. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask more if I can help. I am also on fb, same name, if it's easier 😊 Good winds bro

    @@christomo thanks for your advice 😊 the reason for choosing the fsp 2x is that it is easier to repair, I think, maybe I am wrong!?! So in your opinion I should go for the mint size 5,8?

  • @christomo

    @christomo

    23 күн бұрын

    @kenholmdal yes that would be a great forever board imo . The 5.2 lemon if you want a short board or mint5.8 a slightly longer one and will get up a little easier. The pro boards easy to repair just sand and glass dings but have a look at my board set up vid I railtape mine there is no dings on .y mint 3 years on however I don't use hard handels or a harness for that reason
