I remember when I got this movie. There was a yard sale in my neighborhood. This movie was 2$ and I nonstoped watched it. I always wondered what this movie was called, glad I finally found it. It will always be mind-blowing. And recently, my mom even told me she would watch it too

I watched it for the first time when I was studying animation in university. They showed us the movie so we could learn to draw and animate flying birds. It's been 10 years since then, still love this movie. Always gives me a teary eye

I completely agree! When I watched it years ago on Cable, I was in AWE!!! It has to be the most amazing movie on the Migration of many birds around the world. My renewed search is because my friend & I heard an Owl outside. Two days ago, & the day before I was woken up by Sandhill Cranes in Florida. My friend told me what she thought they may have been. So I searched & got a video of them & their sound. Then I started talking about this Documentary & I immediately did a search. Now to see if I can find the actual video of the whole thing. Enjoy your video. I hope to find it streaming or maybe here. I’ll keep looking! 😊😊😊

I watched this one early morning on animal planet when I was a child. It has been a memorable moment since then…soundtrack and all.

For 80 million years, birds have ruled the skies, seas, and earth. Each spring, they fly vast distances. Each fall, they fly the same routes back. This film is a result of 4 years following their amazing odysseys, in the northern hemisphere and then the southern hemisphere, species by species, flying over each continent. No special effects were used in the filming of the birds.

I remember checking this movie out from the library when I was little.

Directed by Jacques Perrin, who also narrated --- R.I.P. (1941-2022)

At least she gets to feed them most years. But I felt the same way. It’s funny how the interaction between a wild being and yourself can bring so much satisfaction and contentment.

I love this movie and am waiting for 4K HDR ver.

So they get shots of a goose unable to take flight. Then they get shots of a boy looking at it through a wooden lattice. They get shots of the boy cutting the netting with a pocket knife to free the goose. They get shots of the goose flying with the netting still on his leg. They get shots of the goose landing and trying to get the remaining netting off his leg (apparently unsuccessfully). Explain to me how the whole nasty thing wasn't staged.
