    I judge wing chun by it's history.... wing chun is a system that was devised by a woman for a woman. that, to me , explains almost all of its limitations. now muay thai was devised by a nation of men fighting another nation of men for hundreds of years... tried tested and true

    Wing tzun is misunderstood from most people... kung fu needs a hard and long way to go. The wt masters who get exposed, im sory for them, they dont look like real hard fighters. I learned wing tzun here and there and on the street. I had many streetfights and i can say martial arts are most dangerous.

  • @zoolkhan

    @zoolkhan

    4 жыл бұрын

    he would be able to pull of the same "series of movements" with you - but if you "ragdoll" you will come out unharmed. if you go rigid (which is against wing chun philosophy anyways, - and therefore his students automatically avoid that - well, if you did that ... and stepped out of the agreed on tecniques - youd force him to go on autopilot - and that means he will not be able to brake that hit to your throat or the kick to the kneecaps. Autopilot means, brain off - reflexes on. A reflex is hard to control. In those demos all those techniques are controlled in order to keep it injury free. This is a "demonstration" and he does not want to hurt his students, same goes for videos showing drills. Why does everyone expect reality from drills and demos? Because you know shit about wing chun, you never seriously trained it - you have 2nd hand knowledge and that of a youtube watcher who often did never see ring or gym from the inside. Trust me, you never want to be on the business end of that in a dark alley where the operator does not need to consider your health as much. Oh, it is practical enough for what it was designed to do. And the more people dispute that - the better for us practitioners, because the only thing i fear as a fighter in a self defense situation is a wing chun man with a bad attitude beeing the attacker. I really would hate to have to defend myself against another wing chun fighter. Bring your MMA propaganda to the street, get surrounded by 10 skinheads and show me how your groundfighting skills prevail , while his 9 friends kick your head with combat boots. In wing chun we actually train for such situations, and there is also the reason why going to ground is not the first choice to us. (although we trained doing that already long before UFC and braz jujutzu made an appearance)

    zoolkhan, I couldn't have said it better brother. People attempt to downplay Wing Chun. I bet they wouldn't touch hands with Dai Sifu Emin Boztepe though. What they don't understand is this is not your normal traditional Wing Chun, he teaches us, as I call it COMBAT Wing Chun and that's exactly how it should be trained.

    Il wing chun ha dimostrato già troppe volte la sua efficacia in tornei di vale tudo, mma e sfide varie perchè qualcuno possa pensare che queste siano solo coreografie o pure pagliacciate. purtroppo ormai c'è internet, e le scemenze sono svelate. il wing chun è ormai la disciplina di base da cui non si può prescindere.

  • @bramturo

    @bramturo

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@paky8374 diciamo che non è proprio così. Ma non mi trovo d’accordo nemmeno con l’utente sopra. Come prima opinione, io credo che il Wing Chun non sia praticabile a livello agonistico, perché non nasce per quelle finalità. Un’ altra cosa che mi permetto di dire, è che in Occidente c’è una visione distorta del kung fu perché vogliamo tutto e subito: in parole povere non è accessibile, per metterlo in pratica in un contesto reale, occorrono svariati anni di pratica, dove non intendo due giorni a settimana per 1 ora e mezza. In Cina, esistono contesti, in cui si pratica 6 giorni su 7 per 7 ore al giorno. Questa è la spina dorsale della metodologia orientale, tutti i giorni si pratica, tutti i giorni si eseguono gli esercizi perché l’arte marziale diventa il perno della propria esistenza. Va fatto un percorso. Se si vuole imparare a combattere in poco tempo fai muay o kick boxing. Ultima cosa, e non annoio più, spesso ci si dimentica che il Wing Chun non è un insieme di tecniche che devo imparare a mettere in pratica (il problema della tradizione spesso è deleterio per le arti marziali ). La sopravvivenza è funzione dell’adattamento, l’adattamento è l’unica costante nel Wing Chun che pertanto non può stagnate su nessuna tecnica e nessuna strategia, ma deve evolversi continuamente. Ciò che conta sono i principi (linea centrale, contemporaneità, dominio dei 4 cancelli etc) e non le tecniche: vedere come in questo video, un opponente che tira un pugno da box è una guardia in tan Sao, è un dispiacere enorme (oltre che follia pura, una raffica di quei pugni sarebbe ingestibile in quel modo). Il concetto di tradizione per tanto è travisato e basta guardare al passato: leung bik utilizzava i calci anche per attaccare la parte superiore del corpo (la tradizione negherebbe), Ip Man introdusse l’utilizzo del gomito sulla corta distanza (bong sao) e venne quasi preso per un eretico. Tutto questo per dire che il kung fu è efficace ma non come viene insegnato nel mondo occidentale e soprattutto non deve avere paura di allargare i suoi orizzonti, ciò che conta sono i principi e non le tecniche, finché li rispetti andrà sempre tutto bene, non a caso, Wing Chun significa “eterna primavera” e non può fare altro che evolversi

    Questa è un eresia!!!...e lo dico da ex insegnante di wt... questa disciplina non è mai stata il valore aggiunto per praticanti di mma o sport da combattimento,anzi!!.. è sempre stata snobbata per motivazioni varie...non è perché Anderson Silva ha fatto vedere due tecniche di wt in gabbia allora si generalizza

    .... so in order to counter your statement effectively, we would need him to kill his student and demo-partner on the stage? Of course he shows only what is safe to be shown - and we also dont want random idiots to copy nasty stuff w/o the moderating instance of a trainer. Thats traditional martial arts for you, like it or not - but we want to lead a student there over the years, so his mind is riped together with the body. There is nothing to be gained from showing unknown strangers on youtube or a show - techniques that would be even more dangerous to self and others w/o proper guidance ego-checks, and control of reflex which is an aquired skill. We have our hands full with keeping our own students on the carpet and preventing them from running their own demos on the schoolyards or age-equivalent. .. uh.. hope thats not a too complex sentence. This is the whole story : - the gracies were challenged to a match on neutral ground in a gym belonging to the FBI. - The gracies refused. They wanted it to be on camera in an UFC ring instead , which emin refused - because we do not fight for money in our organisations - and certainly not to make those rich that seek to besmirch our art. The gracies were in for the money only. Not so much honor - or else they would have taken the fight in that FBI gym with neutral observers (fbi folks) They knew full well that wing tsun people dont go into the cage, they counted on that - and capitalized on that ever since. (I know, stupid rookie idiots from other branches (usually americans) did so on rare occations... but that only ment they started their training for all the wrong reasons anyhow - foul apples are everywhere to be found)
