Yeah they sure do, I'm from Wisconsin and I find the Wisconsin river a lot and is stand on the ends of wing dams and drop big bluegill or cut bait and I've had phenomenal luck.

Was a great spot and I am sure you will be back soon to the spot. You may be correct with the big fish hiding. I would be impressed with anything over 50lbs. I went fishing 2 days ago, saw fish, froze and gave up. Kudos to you for camping.

It's gonna be windy here too. Nowhere seems to be windy like Kansas though. Glad you enjoyed it man.

Nice fish, man. Best 20 minutes of catfishing I've ever had was in a swirl just above a Mississippi River wing dam really early in the morning. They were all 5-8lbs, but it was as fast as I could bait and get it in the water. Got 7 channels, they fed 8 guys for a couple of meals. Got to be the hero as no one had caught anything big enough to keep for two days. The next year I saw a great big Mountain Lion on that wing dam about 3am, an hour after everyone else went back up to camp. I walked backwards to camp until it stopped following me, probably a couple hundred yards. Not fishing there solo after dark ever again unless I have a gun on me, it was scary.

You always talk about depth perception with your eyes, maybe 10ft or 15ft. It amazes me as I've never been able to see down that far.

You ever use the goldeye live to catch flatties on the big river. I wonder if they're like other types of shad hard to keep alive

I honestly enjoy the cooler weather blue cat patterns over the bumping. I like fishing on anchor. I won't have too many trips this summer, but this spring I'm gonna do a big road trip down south before turkey season I think.

Whisker seeker are excellent rods made in iowa for big fish. I like the 7"6 medium heavy action 1 piece. You wont be disappointed if you buy one imo.

Or extra big flat heads and Opelousas cat that would you call a spotted cat red-bellied perch. What ya call bull heads are mud cats polywogz. Willow cats are bull heads have 2 big. Hunkz of meat over each eye like horns hence bullhead at least down south... watching you catch dinner. See ya later Spence.

By the way Ops n flathead are the tastiest catfish in the water cause they eat more life bait. Other cats eat mud n dead stuff I 1nce caught flathead on big night crawler bout 6inch worm in a bayou bout 10 feet wide by a weir 26lbs I was happy dappy ate his tasty flesh. 😂
