En 1977, à l'âge de 14 ans, Didier Beddar commence l'étude du Wu Shu Traditionnel (Shaolin du Nord) avec Fred Bohm, disciple du Grand Maître Alan Lee.
Il poursuit son étude dans un style réputé pour sa science dans l’art des poings, la boxe Wing Chun, style du sud de la chine (Shaolin du Sud), auprès d’un disciple du Grand Maître Yip Man, Maître William Cheung, installé en Australie.
Il devient la deuxième génération après Yip Man.
Le mannequin de bois est un outil de travail très utilisé en Wing Chun.
Il est l une des six formes du style, son utilité est multiple.

In 1977, at the age of 14, Didier Beddar began the study of Traditional Wu Shu (Northern Shaolin) with Fred Bohm, disciple of Grand Master Alan Lee.
He continued his study in a style renowned for its science in the art of the fists, Wing Chun boxing, a style from southern China (Southern Shaolin), with a disciple of Grand Master Yip Man, Master William Cheung, installed in Australia.
He becomes the second generation after Yip Man.
The wooden mannequin is a widely used working tool in Wing Chun.
It is one of the six forms of style, its usefulness is multiple.
