In this restaurant service training video we are focusing on WINE SERVICE and how to open a wine bottle! Presenting and opening bottle of wine could be stressful for a new waiter or beginner waitress and it could be embarrassing if you are doing it for a first time in front of the guests! I strongly recommend that you practice wine opening at home as soon as you know that you are starting a job as a waiter/waitress! There are cheap wines and you can buy a bottle for 2$ just to open it, not necessary to drink it! Another way to practice is to open all the bottles of wine when there is a banquet at the restaurant and those bottle have to be open anyway! Just make sure you are doing it the right way, not the lazy way! Use this chance to practice wine opening like you are doing it in front of the guests! The topic of wine is huge and very important for anyone who wants to make a living working as a restaurant server! In this particular video we are covering only the basics of wine! We are currently working on a whole series about wine and wine service where the topic of wine will be covered in all the possible details!

I have a question. How can you increase the amount of tables you are able to handle at once? As of now I can handle about 5-6 tables without getting overwhelmed. How do I get better at this?

Serving wine is a fine art! It is almost as pleasant as drinking it :)
You say the same thing over again four or five times when you only need to say it once. It’s ridiculous and even fast forwarding minutes at a time I would still hear you say the same thing AGAIN. Everything you said could have been condensed and taught in five minutes and it would have been clearer and easier to follow.

No I am not kidding you! The video is long and there is a short version if all you want to see is how to open a bottle of wine! But it is not only about cutting the foil and pulling the cork out! Serving a bottle of wine is much more than that!
