Fantastic video. You are obviously a fine dining professional. I am not a waiter and never worked as one yet but have seen many. Also i have many years of experience as a cashier working with diverse public, so i am a pro too. You are excellent and you are 100% right about acting. It is the same in every public facing role. You leave the personal problems and moods at the door. I learnt to turn that happy, positive, calm, professional mood on under most challenging circumstances and it produces happy results.. In your trade it does attract bigger tips, because people feel your vibe.. Thank you for your awesome tutorials..

The place I work at the boss has us split our tips between all the people who work in the front of the house but we don't get our tips until the end of pay period which is bi-weekly which is every 2 weeks

I work as bartander, waiter, recently work at room service waiting tables most difficult ones for me... you must constantre billing timing etc... Bartender following orders.... making cocktails coffees etc room service you don't have to know who is going to eat what and less contact with guess ... =)

Abraham Linan, I see you are a man with knowledge so I am going to use one example from Rich dad poor dad book! Robert K. was a very shy guy as young and he knew this is a disadvantage in life, so to overtake this problem he put himself in a situation where being shy is not an option: he took a job as a salesman. THAT HELPED HIM TO BECOME ONE OF THE BEST PAID PUBLIC SPEAKERS IN AMERICA :) We as waiters don't have an option to be shy and introvert. You have made the first step acknowledging your problem! The second step is to start working to overtake it! every single day make an extra effort to talk to guests, to coworkers and even to yourself in front of the mirror and you will notice very soon that communicating with people is getting easier and easier by the day! It is a matter of willingness and execution! Good luck to you!

From the start until 2:20 you will have a manager or the owner saying to you why are you taking so long with the order. Where i work waiters don’t take long to get orders, and besides they are under constant pressure bc there are no foodrunners, only me bussing tables and helping clear dirty plates off. I can see this working only in a high class restaurant or a restaurant with foodrunners and bussers. But where i work it’s impossible bc you are always under pressure, there you are your own cashier, you must close tables from the system with the tips left in credit card transactions, getthe food out to the customers. When they done ask if they want dessert, coffee, or any other thing. You must pack take out orders from your tables. All while being notified by the hostess which tables you are gonna attend.

Chacazulo, I understand your point! There are many different types of restaurant and managers! You do what your managers requires from you but I am telling it the way it should be and they it is done in the fine dining restaurants! I have also worked in places where following the steps of service was not required and not executed! I moved on from this kind of establishments really quickly!
