Been waiting for this rework since shadowlands. I didn’t mind being main stat verst because all monk specs were main stat verst so I could play all 3 without worrying about stats

I was saying to scrap hero talents and just focus on iterating on all of the talent trees, reworks, and tier sets. As a monk main, this rework was a very nice surprise and am cool with hero talents as long as the base trees feel good

i love ww monk , was main every start of expansions. But yes, every start only ... its overpowered 2 weeks then blizz nerf it so bad and it becomes the worst dps ... always like that ...

Wish we could get weapon animations while fighting but the rework looks really nice so far and there must be always something to dream of :D

just give us a glyph of the blackout strike which change blackout kick, and glyph of tiger strike which changes the tiger palm, so you can use both, or just one and it would give you the classic monk fighting aestetic

It’s worth mentioning the attack speed generated post FoF. It’ll help you get out those thunderfist melees. Currently you don’t auto during FoF or SCK so it’s a nice quality of life improvement

Lifelong WW here so excited to try all this out!

Leveling a monk thru remix was a good choice found my main next expansion 🎉

You missed something, teachings of the monastery makes it hit an additional time. So at 8 stacks when you hit blackout kick it actually hits 9 times including the initial cast and the 8 stacks. Which means against three targets you kick 27 times

There are a couple changes already addressing some of these issues. Blizzard is treating monk like a real class again

Monk has been been my favorite class. This all seems pretty cool to me.

So hyped for WW finally living up to its class fantasy. A little nervous about all the people who will re-roll as Monk now though - I loved being the only Monk in any given group 😅

I'm sooo happy about chiwave passive, it's probably my MOST forgotten spell across all toons. I can't wait to see what good it can actually do for once 🤣

I’m super hyped about Templar ret paladin since ret is my main but I’m definitely wanting to try windwalker now

During the remix I plan to try out healer for the first time, Mistweaver monk specifically, (also first time monk) and with the hype for wind walker, I look forward to hearing more details on mistweaver, as I hope that it will be my healer for war within (and remix of course)

Wish they gave blackout kick a new sfx and animation. It just looks clumsy and sounds like the *miss* sfx, a basic whoosh. Get creative and dramatic, I say. Add some more effects.

Finally! They’re making the ww a “many small hits = few big hits”! They’ve tried this before but they’re finally doubling down on that design philosophy and I’m here for it

So as i understand on 12:00 you use FOF then RSK than Whirlwind then tiger palm than blackout kick for a maximum blackout kick damage?

Glad to see them leaning into the Air Bending aspect of WINDwalker a bit more with Strike of the Wind Lord almost have it’s own wind based portion of the talent tree. Lighter than air also adds to the fantasy

Yes exactly, it might sound silly but what brought me to monk was Avatar the last Airbender, particularly air nomads.

Thank god for the reduced bloat. I love monk, have loved it since MoP, but I have never once mained it for that very reason. Every season I bring it out, realise that I need a piano degree to play optimally with at least 3 abilities that add nothing but are mandatory because they sim better... I love to learn complicated specs with a lot of choice and on the fly decisions, but ability bloat doesn't make a spec interesting, particularly when so many monk abilities just do damage with zero interactions with the way the class functions.

Agreed, and it's why I think Ret paly is the best designed melee spec right now - basically zero bloat, the only things you have to worry about are utility abilities that you only use once in a blue moon. Enhance shaman is also suffering from bloat right now, I would totally play it if it was like the Legion version but I don't wanna press 20 keys per second and get carpal tunnel.

I feel like every spec should have a double jump / dash ability to make the game feel more modern, like nothing beats the feeling when you can fel rush out of harms way or monk roll to a better position. We need more baseline mobility not a capstone abilities like that lighter than air but we as wow players are easy to make in awe with that kind of little things whilst the younger generation is turning their heads elsewhere in embarrassment.

Playing WW in remix, brand new to melee, how difficult is this new build to play well?

Having expel harm is nice to heal after big hits or prior too them in higher keys so taking away the ability to time it as we please kinda hurts. I also hear we are losing some defensive options in pursuit of minimizing button bloat. I feel we rely on the abundance of defensives due to our low health pool, I’m worried if we don’t get a stam buff we might become a hunter/boomy class that just falls over when something isn’t up.

Gawd dayum! I was thinking of going Ret for TWW, but after this video.. Hmmm.. The fact that they are bringing in Shado-pan armor mog instead of just the hat. My role play as being a watcher on the wall is coming true!

I'm new to monk, but wouldn't the 24 blackout kicks with full stacks in aoe also be copied by storm earth and fire?

This is way overdue, really glad they decided to fix Monks. Hopefully it plays well and I can stick with it as my main instead of going prot pally

They should really let you choose with your tree if you want buffs to be automated or not. Basically make it to where you have a casual build and a more serious option for people to choose from

I don't have alpha but I feel like Trickster might fit my playstyle around KillingSpree and Sinister Strike which I get most don't like they rather play with BTE Spam which also isn't for me.

the one thing i hate about fist of fury cast time is that if i use jade fire, and it procs before, i might miss the free jadefire, so i cancel early.

when wow talk about class rework they will never talk about animations right ?

It would be cool for monk to have new ability where he stands on one foot and fast striking you multiply times with other foot stunning you for 3 seconds in AOE

i will still play a shado pan windwalker, even if the other one is way better. i am so excited to have this flavor attached to my chr. its why i was maldraxious monk too

Monk WW is an high apm class? Compared to rogue maybe

#justiceforexpelharm Expel Harm must be on use. it is a heal, a desired 1 Chi at will, and allows for easier combo strikes. Tiger Palm being more energy will make combo strikes harder and missing expel harm will be felt.

Honestly, the only theme for Shado-Pan I can think of is maybe adding stealth (eg. add a stealth and vanish XD). So hype for the WW rework!!! GOSH I WANT TO PLAY IT. Edit: I also love that they're changing Jadefire Stomp, I actually am one of the few monks that loves it.

Honestly there are so many skills that are macro together or passives that just make sense to go with abilities instead of picking them. I wish they would do like they do a stat squish and do a skill squish rework. And redesign the classes to the fantasy they want them to be as. With covenants having so many more abilities thrown into the mix new players are always so lost. It needs more streamlined to keep players coming! The new action targeting they have in game has been feeling really nice not gonna lie!

My main is fun actually and now it sounds amazing 😂uncontrolled means targets that aren't in CC. For pvp really good so you dont box enemys out of sheep or trap 😅 and don't know why you don't like serenity i find it a bomb cd 😂 now i hope blizz will change the mastery like ret palys instead of buffing it, so many spells are now passiv, keeping mastery up with this downtime wont be fun 😢 and hope also they rework or delete tigerstatue has actuall 2min cd and if you place it and the tank needs to move the dmg is complete gone.

Never played WW before, but I will now.

Uh, most players have been using external sources for builds since 2004.

i never checked if the sef clones do the extra Blackout kicks but if they do... oh boy... thats a lot of a$$es kicked

Shado-pan hero talent will require some addon tracking in order to have ANY control over the passive and countiing will be going on in the background.... I am dissapointed in this design, not going to lie. Which kind of give me Enhancement SHaman vibe at today state, which I rerolled from as it is not fun in PvP what so ever...

I haven't changed my main since WoD. It might just be monk time.

Hopefully frost dk gets some love. DKs in general, actually..

I love the talent that gives you a 20% chance to kick as an auto instead of an unarmed fist strike but I would still LOVE if we got to use weapons again. One day they will stop being just decorations.

No disrespect here, but I think you picked the wrong class to show off weapons. A big part of monk identity in most games and WoW, too, is that you use your fists as weapons.

@@mrnoidea1009 I'm going to have to disagree right back then I'm afraid. Monks started out having the jab ability and its animation was tied to whatever weapon you had. 99% of the monk's kit was unarmed but for that one ability, you swung your weapon. Monks in real life are not solely tied to using just their fists either which is why we have so many examples that are *specifically* tied to the monk identity like the Shaolin Spade and shakujō. I would be perfectly happy having it as a glyph so players can *choose* whether or not they agree with your position or mine.

@Unorthodoxi Thank you for the explanations, I wouldn't be opposed to having some abilities making us draw our weapons, as long as most of them remain based on fists or kicks.

I hope Brew gets even 1/4th of these changes, holey-moley.

The only bad thing about that is.. we have to wait months for this to hit the live servers (pre patch) and we're still stuck with this awful gameplay now :(
