Well we had to tackle this rear axle. At minimum to be able to move the windstar around to decide what to do. It works ok on dry ground but in snow its not safe to drive. Something else is tweaked, im pretty sure i jointed the crack completely, we think the spindle is tweaked from the tire binding on the body so hard. At any rate it was good practice and enough to move the car around.
I detail how i tacked this mess and got old junk rusty metal to become strong again evidently we are a bit off on alinement.

I just had my 2002 Windstar replaced under recall. They replaced the whole axle at no cost to me.

@@dons8365 good to know i cant believe they are still doing it! I know we had that glue and splint added as per the original recall like 12 years ago or something. Ill have to follow up. My patch even though its ugly is rock solid strong but toe ended up being a little off. Its a bit darty in the rain or snow. So i was going to hydraulically push it back but a replacement sounds better
