The narration and images brings to life a paradise lost. Such a sleek looking ship. The ocean liners of the 60s were like supermodels. Compared to today's cruise ships which are like overfed suburban house wives. Dreamy acres of deck space looks amazing and spacious. Stunning interiors in both classes.

Thank you so much, Mr. Nicolai-Vargas. So happy that you enjoyed it and love your Supermodel versus Overfed Housewife analogy! Brilliant!

One of the most fitting corollaries is the end of "Casino" as de Niro's character laments the loss of the classy and rogue mob-controlled Las Vegas of the 1960s-70s and the rise of the Disnification mindset of the 90s, full of travelling tracksuit-clad senior citizens and computer-controlled water features.

I was lucky enough to have sailed aboard her twice from Southampton to Cape Town in first class. Your production brought back many happy memories . . . but a sad ending to a magnificent liner.

Thanks so much for your comment, Chris. How wonderful it must have been to sail in her, especially in first class. I posted a second video of her here as MARGARITA L, when she was laid up in Greece as another bonus track to accompany the "Torn Castle" DVD.

Thank you Peter. I remember some of your stuff on the internet about this grand ship maybe about 2004(?) when she was listed with the brokers. It left a lasting impression on me. And here you bring her to life one last time :-) A bygone age and so beautiful. I so wish she could have been preserved...

Thank you so much, Bryan! Yes, I wrote on about her on MaritimeMatters.com. I really wanted to see her saved. She was a great, understated beauty and the last of her kind that hadn't been drastically altered.

I enjoyed this video Peter. Seeing her original interiors and exteriors was a treat. From beginning to the end. She was really special. It's a total shame Carnival or Chandris didn't get her so she could sail longer. I also enjoyed "Chasing MARGARITA L" which I left a comment on.

Thank you. Appreciate the feedback. I added a filter to the narration and think it may have overall lowered the volume. Will readjust for the DVD version. I have some fabrics that will be for sale but they are not on the site yet. I'll see what I have and get something posted to the MidShipCentury Facebook page. Thanks again.
