I was looking for this for a long time. This is good news indeed. I would say it's the only feature I need instead of going pro. I look forward for your next video on the policy topic, especially in improving performance. I suffer from continuous fail updates on certain package which becomes very annoying, and now I just have Windows update fully disabled. You are correct on the other one not working, because I did set the update option to 2.

Thanks for pointing out the product key change (upgrade) is totally separate from the subsequent activation. I did this a couple of years back without understanding - and THANKFULLY you had links to CD Key providers so I could easily purchase a discounted activation key.

A great video Brian and I personally have the Pro Windows 11 and this seems to be an easier way of dealing with the policies rather than fiddle around with the gpedit way of dealing with them as I find that some of your videos on doing stuff in gpedit while good go so quickly it is hard keeping up with you😉. So will I do any harm to my machines by installing this software?

@Brian, where do you get the software from? Searching for it brings up various sites with likely different results. Even the Github one is several years old.

So is there any real benefit to upgrading 10 Home to Pro? this current PC I am on falls short of the official minimum requirements to upgrade to 11 (so when 10 support stops I may need to reconsider full-timing this machine) - my new PC that I'll eventually move onto is all 11 Pro but atm I never really connect it to my network, lucky to connect it probably once a month to tag any security updates. For context this current PC is primarily a gaming machine, albeit ancient hardware by today's standards.

What advantages the Pro version have? Besides group policy ofc.

The program was last updated in 2021; does it pull in current .admx files from your current installation?

If I use the paid version of Spybot Anti-Beacon, would I still need to use this to disable telemetry or does that program already do this?

Would be nice if there was a Link to this software you say Home users should have.

That Policy Plus looks really good, much better than the Policy Editor on my Windows 10 Enterprise. Unfortunately, it doesn't work here, all changes I make get lost as soon as I end the program. I've even tried running it as Admin and rebooting -- no luck. Sigh...

Glad I'm rocking Enterprise LTSC so I dont get all the BS. I still try to disable as much telemetry as possible though.

I purchased two Win 11 Pro keys from your sponsor and neither worked when I tried to upgrade from Win 11 home. Too busy to chase it up

If it only says pro after you put the generic key, that means you don’t need to purchase any more keys.

When I try to activate Windows it allways says it can't connect to the servers so f*ck that. I use the Microsoft Toolkit to activate my Windows, I can activate it offline without ever having to contact MS.

why upgrade to pro and then buy a key to activate it? when i went from home to pro on a pre built i just purchased a pro key, entered it and windows upgraded automatically.

Because OEM keys are not designed for upgrading, only fresh install. So you need to upgrader first

Nice to know. But Home users are better off just leaving Windows 11 Group Policy alone. Getting a 3rd party software to make changes to Windows may seem stylish. But if done wrongly can harm the system.

If someone doesn't know that downloading a program you've never heard of to make system changes that you don't have access to, is dangerous, they have no business clicking on this video.

wow, everything in your pc is set to super small, i can't even see the things your clicking on or what they say lol. i like the videos that zoom in to these things to better show the important details that we need to see to understand what we need to do.

@@user-tp5yb4hr4w Ah, I thought you was watching it on a mobile or something. If you have a 50 inch tv then you'll have a very big resolution and I admit, that could make it look small. Especially from far away. I'm watching on a normal sized monitor close in front of me, so it does look normal to me.

I am on a 17 screen and I am having the same problem and text is blurry. If I make it bigger it stays blurry.

You don't need this software. You can enable gpedit through cmd prompt for Win 11 home.

OK firstly, it's ez. Get windows 10 or 11 iso direct. Use ntlite select gaming preset and save a iso of it. I nstall In a vm then use Chris Titus to debloat and remove telemetry and whatever you won't use. Install whatever applications you need and sysprep it. Then use winpe to build an image of it, you now have windows as it should be. Ez to reinstall should something crash.
