@Pxarlescent also, it's not realistic to have so many graphic effects that bloat the OS, the goal should be to run on as many computers as possible. Including animation effects included in the video concept simply doesn't apply well to a real OS. It's made to look cool, not to be practical. While Microsoft has a different goal.

Vista's Aero Glass was fucking beautiful when it was released in 2006 and there was nothing that rivaled it - until everyone realized that era's janky graphics processors couldn't handle all of the effects and made the operating system almost unusable until the hardware caught up with the software several years later People seem to have real short memories when it comes to tech On the flip side, this thread reminds of why I stay away from Linux fanboys despite using it extensively (and enjoying it) at work... yikes

@Pxarlescent windows also has to worry about backwards compatibility, that's why they keep old services and focus on keep them running for their commercial customers. They also focus on making the OS work in similar ways to older versions. If looking good was your goal, why not just use Mac OS? But there's also reasons most people don't use Mac.

It's like a 2010's style, but mixed with a 2020s style. I love it.

I would say it's more of a late 2000s style, myself. The 2010s is more flat and is when Windows 10 came out.

Why didnt Microsoft think about this. This is soo much cooler and doesnt destroy our memories with windows 7 Edit: lol,I just got popular with likes.

@@null-wn8ss Seems kinda dumb to not focus on their cash cow, if they just keep rolling out updates Linux and macos are going to take over the market. I know that apple released a thousand versions of MacOS 10, but that worked as they controlled the hardware it ran on completely. This is gonna end up like an Android Scenario, where 3rd party hardware manufacturers aren't going to care to roll out updates without Microsoft forcing their hand.

@@equation1321 then windows had not took time for even thinking about the next version of windows, because its already more than 5 years, and they are still working on windows 10, and making beta versions just for testing. I thought you understood, why this one of the biggest company is having problems to make a new version of windows, so in short, Microsoft is still working on windows 10 more than 3 years, to make something new. Yeahh still better than teacher's lecture 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@not hing if you want to know, windows 10 is a really best operating system, it literally has everything you need, but still they want to add new things that's why they are taking time, or I think they will only work on windows 10.

seeing as to how close the windows 20 concept was to the leaked windows 11 i wouldn't be surprised anymore if there IS a windows 7 remastered in works

This is just a Windows 7 theme for your Windows 10 concept from earlier this year, and I love it.

Love that rounded corners along with Segoe UI font style along with notifications bar and timeline view. Tabs on File Explorer is also wonderful and ofcourse we got the nostalgic aero glass transparency. Vista and 7 had that amazing look due to the aero glass transparency.

This makes me want the Aero UI back even more. I’ve already got Classic Shell, I just need Aero and some other theme patcher then I’ll be happy

@@peeboo every OS has a terminal. Even mac. It's just more useful in Linux allowing you to accomplish more in less time (if you know what you're doing). But it's not necessary; you can do everything with a GUI too.

Aero theme with Windows 10 UI. Something we never knew we needed.

Damn, amazing UI concept! Looks much softer and consistant than the real thing. It perfectly mixes Aero style of 7, albeit in a modernized form, with some flat elements from 10 and a bit of macOS metalic design (metalic appeareance and rounded corners) thrown in. And how I miss the Start menu from 7, it was so simple and easy to use. You did a much better job than Windows UI designers themselves, Microsoft should hire you. Congratulations, very good job man!

you can download visual mod packs for windows to change hud and some UI like the win button, so you can see win 7 start menu on win 10 edit: you can also change te settings UI and disable cortana to get literally like the old win 7, but if I install some of the visual mods someday I'm sure I will keep cortana literally use that searcher for almost everything now xd

@Shuja Abid that's a Linux desktop environment, in there you go into Settings and then kde global style where you klick on get new style, type in the search Win7 and there it should be

@Shuja Abid If you are on Ubuntu or something based on it, you are most likely, you need to type "sudo apt install kde-plasma-desktop" in a terminal and it is going to install, you confirm you want to install it and then you just go with the default option on the next one if there is one and then log off, somewhere in the login screen you can select the desktop environment, it is different on pretty much every distro so you have to find that out yourself

Oh WoW a few days ago I had too thought the same idea. There should be a Windows 10 update bringing some custom windows skin options with it. Including XP( With the Luna Design language), 7( With the Aero Design) and 8( With Metro Design). It would be really good to such customization options for windows to get the Nostalgia without compromising the features. It would also cause more people to migrate to Windows 10 who weren't shifting just because of the unfamiliarity of the interface. Whoever votes for this update to come like here!!!
