They wanted and want to make a consistent design. Just have so many companies that have windows and fear they would switch to something else. But I mean I think it would be the other way around

Microsoft has come a long way with the design though. Windows 10 now looks far more consistent than it was back in 2014.

The Microsoft roast is real. Even the finder is unhappy to be there.

@@nclsDesign i started off with a macbook but after building a gaming pc and experiencing it, i wish i got a windows. now i have to use virtualbox to run windows and its to laggy :( but if we are just looking at companies they are pretty equal

@@potater6163 Just use Bootcamp to create a second partition with Windows installed or just fully install Windows on your Mac (Don't forget to save the data in FAT32 then)

You are right, but hopefully that is changing in Windows 11. The design is getting more consistent, the drop-down menus now have the same design language, the Settings and the Microsoft Store apps now have the same design language as well, and others apps will follow but we’ll see when it’s done.

@@mugrides6177 Around the O.S. there are so many different design languages that it looks like the O.S. was designed by many designers that didn't like each other and didn't collaborate even a bit. It looks incredible that it all comes from a big and famous company like Microsoft....

Mostly, but not all, in some cases, making a analogy, is like if somebody were in a middle of a move and have the charger in the new house and the phone in the older one; so, to make one thing you need one and for some other you need both of them.

I think that’s actually one of the worst scenes he made. The screen makes a motion matched cut to a microsoft logo that then transforms into a bunch of buttons, but it does so in a bunch of unrelated movements that feel clunky when put together. The transition is what exactly, Microsoft logo to a bunch of buttons? As a (mostly designer but also) motion designer myself, this sort of thing happens a lot for me, but I usually just undo the entire thing I did and go back to the drawing board with transitions. It baffles me why he’d keep that in, I suppose sometimes it’s hard to come up with alternatives, but it’s a meaningless transition (what is ms morphing to window buttons supposed to even mean?) and it’s not executed that well too. It’s all nicely eased but that’s not enough.
