Windows 11 performance on unsupported hardware

In this video, I will compare the performance under Windows 10 and Windows 11 on a PC that is not officially supported. The one I will use has no TPM 2.0, secure boot and an unsupported processor. First I'll do a minor upgrade with some additional memory and an NVIDIA GTX 960, then will go through a series of benchmarks like Geekbench, AJA System test, Browserbench, 3DMark and will run and compare GTA V.
In the meanwhile, Microsoft has released Windows 11 23H2. You can find an updated video about upgrading to 23H2, from Windows 10 on unsupported hardware over here: • Upgrade to Windows 11 ...
For other scenarios, you can also check the following:
- Upgrade to Windows 11 23H2 from Windows 11 22H2 or 21H2 on unsupported hardware: • Upgrade to Windows 11 ...
- Perform a fresh installation of Windows 11 23H2 on unsupported hardware: • Install Windows 11 23H...
And have a blogpost about it as well: jensd.be/1472/windows/install...

If you run an older processor, the security integrity protection will be executed through software emulation rather than through a dedicated processor module in conjunction with TPM. Microsoft prefers the latter but as long as you meet all the other requirements, that will be fine. Its not an ideal state but you don’t need it to run Windows 11.

It’s fine until I get to the second half of the installation and gives me an error when it’s about to finish the “getting updates 75%” then goes to “your device ran into a problem and needs to restart “ when it’s about to finish then happens 3-4 times before the system automatically uninstall 11 by itself

Not really for this machine as it has two full PCIe x16 slots. This does apply for most (consumer) motherboards as there is often a physical x16 slot which is only x4 internally.
