Suppose Windows on Arm will be a big thing in the future (because of Snapdragon X Elite and so on). Wouldn't OEMs like Lenovo try designs like Foldable Laptops (2 in one or Tablets), which would require Win 11 to work seamlessly on that hardware? This looks like a window in the future of Windows.

linux sucks so badly. and Android is a linux device which sucks you cannot even install gnu/linux on an android phone.

good start. Microsoft should release a alternative windows 11 for android devices, so people can install as custom rom and gives full support of update and security features.

Actually, Windows 8 / 8.1 and Windows 10 mobile was the best for any touch screen devices. The UI was superb ! . Far much better than Android ,IOS, iPad OS, or any. I had used windows 10 phone like Lumia 650. and many windows 2in1 pc since windows 8 was out including surface go and surface pro.

I found that in Windows 11 using two monitors extended desktop, it opens apps on the last used monitor. This highlights the multitasking genius in Microsoft Launcher on Duo. It recognizes which screen is being engaged.

Just what does it actually take for Microsoft to hire these guys, support them on a full team scale, revive back the Surface Neo and Duo but as Windows machines? They don't have to compete with Android, as long as it is windows, there is always a way to get things running. If only they didn't kill the android app support this dream would've come true in this day and age.

@@joshuahernandez-th6ov brother this is a Surface Duo video. You don't wanna use Linux/android on this. If you meant that in a general sense for my PC, why would I do that? I play games on my pc too, until anticheat issues are addressed I'll only dual boot or boot up from a stick.

When I saw the Surface duo being teased I was hoping they would make it dual booting of android and windows. imagine having your phone with you all day doing phone stuff then coming home and docking it for your pc. would make for a killer work setup.

Just imagine a Surface Duo 3 with the same dual display solution like this but with Snapdragon X Plus/Elite chipset.

I'm actually running windows on my Xiaomi pad 5, which has the same processor and benefited from this project, and everything works except the cameras ! It's actually very good, and surely the cheapest way to get a 120hz windows tablet with good battery life It's also very good on Poco X3 pro

How does the Microsoft Office apps run on here? Is Excel too small to see anything etc? does Bluetooth work ok with an external mouse/keyboard? looks very cool!.. Hopefully they can get these other issues resolved and it could be an amazing little machine! Thanks for the video

Anybody knows if it will run dropbox and Metatrader 4 or 5 ? It works on surface pro 11. Great video!

Until it have no voice, really hard to find reason to try out. I using xiaomi pad 5 with perdectly working Android/Windows 11 dual boot. But sound is very basic in my opinion to find reason to start a very complicated install proces.

Been following this and have been eager to make windows the main os once its stable ... Still waiting for sound and quality of life things ! For now might just stick with android

I was using Ubuntu some time ago. But Microsoft always do Windows and Windows Phone it was very nice and useful, it will be a good fight with Samsung Dex. Good to see an Android fork (without Google, at the moment out of USA we have Microsoft Wallet, good begin to mobile payments) or Linux (with Android apps) on Surface Duo (now it's my mine device, it's ok with a smartwach) from Microsoft like a Ubuntu phone from Canonical. Yes, it had a lots of issues without financial strong.

I can belive that windows central exist 😂

It would be nice if Microsoft just continue to support Android with their Android launcher designed for folding devices. Surface Duo could live on as a Duo launcher for Android. Everything that the current Microsoft Launcher does for single display phones could be made for foldables as a replacement for Duo hardware. Only difference would be instead of 2 displays, a Duo launcher could emulate a large screen split in 2 halves. Google's Android 14 already has split apps so why can't they integrate functionality to a launcher as if it's 2 displays showing on one screen? Also when a foldable is closed the launcher could emulate Surface Duo's phone mode. Would this be too difficult? it's only a UI change to their current launcher anyway.

the new OS might be appropriate for something like a newer version of the Surface RT. I wouldn't mind a cheaper Windows on Arm tablet even just an 8inch - 10inch flat tablet without the surface hinge mechanism to keep production cost down. This would be a good building block to iterate future successful models of the Win-on-Arm system there is a literal ARMs race and Microsoft is currently behind the pack
