If this doesn't work, make your task bar come up and right click now click on TaskBar settings and there will be a option saying "Automatically hide the task bar" if any one of these options is enabled, turn them off it worked for me

No problem, I am glad it helped!

My taskbar becomes empty (save for windows icon search and third icon) and is totally unusable. Nothing works and the cursor becomes a blue spinner when hovering over. Restarting explorer doesn't work (the whole screen cuts to black for a moment then reappears, nothing changed) and I have to restart to fix. I found it often happens when I switch user.

My problem is....I can't find 'Properties' in the Taskbar Popup menu on my mom's computer, which has Windows 10. When I bring the taskbar up it has different options then I've seen before in the taskbar popup menu and the window for it is colored blue, not white. At the bottom there's no option for 'Properties' and all there is is "Taskbar Settings". When I click on that I still can not find the Taskbar Properties?? Anyone know why...it's driving me nuts. All I want to do is to change her Start Menu format back to the old way. Can't do that without being able to get into Taskbar Properties.

Windows has been updated and the properties menu has been removed by Microsoft in an update. You can still get to these options by Clicking Taskbar Settings and clicking Taskbar on the left, but I guess if your playing with the Start menu then you need to click Start rather than taskbar.

@@cwtek1 This might help. When I get back to my mom's I'll check. I've watched another video which tells how to switch from the Windows 10 'start menu' format to the old 'start menu' format, which is what my mom wants, lol. According to this video that is done in the Taskbar Properties menu. I myself never did install Windows 10 and I still have Windows 8.1, but I have an option right in the start menu window to change the format back the old format if I wanted. My mom's laptop, with Windows 10 does not have that convenient option. It has to be changed now in the Taskbar Properties, apparently. Thanks so much for your quick reply =)

When I hit restart on the windows explorer tab all I get it a screen the same colour as by task bar (green) with all shortcuts on my desktop gone so all I'm left with is an empty desktop and task bar with nothing just a very nice looking green screen and when I hover over the task bar a all I see is the little blue spinning cursor go around and I have waited a long time for it to load b4 almost up to an hour but still nothing but when I log out I just end up where I started I was wondering if any1 knows a way around it plz help

Help! i have a problem i downloaded a thing call : orb changer and my desktop is black and my desktop not coming !!! i tried everyting with taskmaneger and noting working!! and my explorer on taskmanger is gone!! when i check in files ( i use run for that) and i click on explorer (C: ~ Windows file) it wil say look for someting for youw own pc version!! and i have windows 10!! that app destroy my pc!! sulution?????

Unfortunately you might need to reinstall Windows 10, if you can get to explorer then you could download the latest Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft's website and then run the setup. If you can backup any important files before doing this.

Restart your computer by holding down CTRL and ALT key and then tap Delete then click the power icon then click Restart (do not click Shutdown or Sleep actually click Restart)

Reyz Perez Press Ctrl Alt Delete and then Restart the computer, do not shutdown actually restart.

When I press restart it goes off and no task at or icons appear
