Wind on the Water aka Whale Dance Peggy Phillips Dance Company - Rare footage
This is the piece of choreography I am the most proud of. I remember being alone in my dance studio trying to figure out how to move like a whale in the ocean when after several hours it came to me. I intentionally designed this piece in black & white. It was a subliminal message. I was inspired by this beautiful song from Crosby, Stills & Nash, and by the work that Greenpeace was doing to try and stop the slaughter of Whales. I created this piece to bring awareness to my dancers. Greenpeace came to the performances and provided educational materials to those who attended. All the money we raised was donated to Greenpeace.
