Winchester Model 70-264 Inside & Out

This piece of Texas history was entrusted to me to restore it to its former glory, all while preserving its rich heritage and aged looks. See what my customer wanted and how I delivered. I disassemble, inspect, clean, lubricate and reassemble this awesome rifle.

About 25 years ago, I had the chance to get a left-handed model 70 in .270. It was a pre-64 but had been restocked with something that looked like they got at Lowe’s. I mean it was a real 2 x 4 so I turned my nose up at it. I’m still regretting it I know I could’ve put a new stock on it. that would’ve been much nicer and I’m sorry I didn’t take it.

@@CoyleTools Oh did it ever! All because of that horrible stock. And it wasn't that expensive either. I haven't seen one since.

You should get the proper tools for cleaning a barrel. Also you never run a rod from the muzzle to the breach. You need a bore guide jags for the proper caliber. Hoppes isn’t gonna get any carbon buildup out either. I hope you’re not charging much.

You're another one of those "it has to be done my way or it's wrong" people. Strangely enough, it came out great and my customer was very happy. There's more than one way to clean a gun, my guy.

@@leelathrop9539 I don't mind being wrong. It's how I learn. But if you want me to believe you, leaving a snarky comment without any information to back it up isn't the way. Unless you give me useful information from reputable sources, you're just another shit-poster. "All barrel makers" is hardly a reputable source, and is easily dismissed as hyperbole. You could have made a better effort, but chose to be a keyboard warrior instead. If you have good information, share it. If not, you're welcome to not leave a comment.
