She wanted them to win! Most people don’t even know that after touring for four years straight, Whitney took 89 off but still went on tour with them and song backgrounds. She also helped fund their tour and paid for their wardrobe. This is the Whitney people should’ve gotten to know instead of holding her to unrealistic expectations and worrying about her personal life that was nobody’s business!!!

Little did she know, as she always questioned herself as Kevin rightly pointed out during his euology, she was the best vocalist on the planet. Her voice was liquid gold -- flying from note to note like silk falling through the air. Chest to head transitions, and vice versa, with no break. Not another person's tone comes anywhere near. Anywhere.

In 1989 Whitney was an indubitable SUPERSTAR at the absolute pinnacle of pop culture. Not only that, she was a virtuoso singer…the absolute BEST and she knew that!!. So for her to sing BACKUP for the Winans, a GOSPEL group, tells me that she knew the Lord and clearly understood the necessity of being HUMBLE no matter the circumstances. This woman is just unbelievable 💙

and what makes it all the more special is that this performance was for her mom's honoring BUT she used to do this on a regular for Bebe and Cece and surprise them when they were on tour, wherever they were. Now that's unbelievable and AMAZING!

Those Winans can sang!!! Love my sister Whitney on background vocals. She loved that family so much.

It just seems so unfair that we lost Whitney! The Winans were such an amazing fit for Whitney's life at that time CeCe Winans will always be my favorite gospel artist, BeBe Winans is an incredible singer and songwriter he is a legend, Whitney Houston in my opinion is the greatest singer of all time. Debbie and Angie are amazing what an awesome era of music.

This is where you see the love and passion for music here. They were always willing to let each other shine, no matter who was the headliner. There was so much humbleness & love for each other as well and Whitney knew how to be in the front as well as I the background. I love how CeCe came under her brother's vocals so well and gave his voice beautiful highlights. As much as they each enjoyed sharing the gift of their voices to us, it was truly a pleasure to see REAL LOVE come thru their music.

Wasn’t aware this footage existed and I attended every bebe and cece concert back in those days. Despite the 80’s video quality, I loved it anyway. ❤️ A real treat for a super fan like me! 😄

I loved them all, but BeBe Winans is one of the most underrated male singers IMO...he could have made it BIG in R&B in his hey day cause he had the VOICE to compete with the Luthers, Peabos, Glenns and Freddies, same thing for CeCe. I grew up on their music and I LOVE there voices. Dont even get me started on Nippy. She was in her PRIME but she was humble enough to sing background for her friends. She loved the Winans and they loved her too. I miss that lady so much.

Just thinking what Bebe said at Whitney funeral, how mad Clive was , Whitney singing background for Bebe and Cece at the height of her career 🤣🤣🤣! That takes a special character . That's a characteristic you don't find in so called Christian. They want to be served. Very few say I have the gift of help, but you can find a lot of them saying I' have five fold ministry and waiting to get t served. When God look for greatness he's looking for the one who serves, not be on being served. Jesus condescend to men of low estate. This is a deep look into WHO Whitney REALLY WAS! IT SPEAK VOLUMES!
