One of the ONLY reviews of this ball I have seen... I literally play everything and I love the Zip.. I play the Elite 50 a little more often but there isn't much difference. I love the soft feel. It is definitely not a distance king but when you have a slower swing speed there isn't much point having those kind of expectations, no ball fixes a slow swing. I think it is good enough around the green. Tripped on this channel.. great job. Hitting subscribe.

A great review, as always. I am so glad and grateful you do reviews on the course and speeds we can relate to. I am not a golf ball expert but I think you may be compressing a little too much with driver. However, it could be a good option in winter when compression becomes more difficult? But… by the sounds of it, a really good golf ball.

Just found this review after asking if you did one on this ball. I have heard so much good about these balls and started using them to try them myself. I found a 10 yard avg. improvement from my driver and better with my irons but unsure just how much more distance cuz I don't hit irons consistently yet. I like the feel of these balls and my putting has improved since using it too.

I received them yesterday. I'm going to try to take them on the course Sunday. I have my first tournament of the year tomorrow and want to practice with them first.

I played a Wilson 50 Elite last winter and liked the feel. But I felt like I lost carry distance in the summer compared to the Chrome Soft I normally play. I will try the Zip when I run out of new balls.

From my experience you are much better off with the wilson, I tried the cut red and my club head speed is only 80mph and I busted/cracked three cut reds in an 18 hole round. They are a very poorly made golf ball IMO.

Same here, I’ve never cracked a ball in 30+ years of golf until I tried the cut reds, cracked 3 balls over 18 holes, then cracked one opening tee shot of my next round. They will now gather dust in the corner of my garage. Garbage ball.

Very nice review. I haven't tried them tbh, although I have tried a few Wilson balls over the last few years that I found mixed results from. The first I tried were Professional which I assume were urethane, my thoughts on that ball were that it was adequate. The second was off memory here was triad. I think this was a cheaper model it felt clicky off all the clubs tbh. Wilson have great history but being a smaller company than the mite of Titleist, taylormade, Callaway etc their products seem less polished. They are a bit cheaper but I would expect that. A very good ball I have tried of late is Srixon q star tour.

⁠It is worth a try. I really like ‘more spin’ greenside but turning 69 this summer and a few yards here and there mean more GIR…which never hurts. Too many golf snobs won’t try it. They should, Wilson makes a lot of good products!

Low compression is slow. Everyone should play higher compression even slower players. 50 compression is crazy soft

I agree soft is slow but I don't agree everyone should play higher compression. I think that's an individual decision. If a player liked a softer lower compression ball and didn't mind losing some yards who am I to tell them they shouldn't play it? I don't think there are many absolutes in golf and definitely ball choice is highly individualistic. Of course, there are many people who have strong opinions of what you should do but I'm not one of them. Golf is not a math equation and everyone doesn't have the same goal in mind. Some people just want to have fun. Thank you for watching!

Also, even Mygolfspy says the distance loss among those with 85mph and less club speed is so small it may not even be worth considering.
