Just watching the timing in slow motion is mesmerizing, and understanding that John Browning figured this out when there was no video of any sort is awe inspiring.

1911 Forever.

The first time I ever shot a 1911 was when I was 15 in 1990, side by side with a "then" fairly new M9 Beretta. I don't know if it was just nostalgia or what, but I prefer the 1911 over the M9.

Where did you find the ambient background sound?

Seems like a little less recoil on the supergrade vs the vickers elite commander. And also a lot less slide dead time when it moves to the rear.

Don't know why they went with a FLGR. The GI type thumb safety is also going to be questionable when at least 90% of 1911s sold have extended thumb safeties and many of like to ride them. I do love Wilson and I have a fill size CQB that I love though! Also, a 9mm 1911 is no longer blasphemy, it's the the number one caliber choice now in 1911s!

I bought a tcp in 9mm. Great gun.

In my experience, Commanders tend to run a little better in 9mm anyways. I'd love to get a Colt 9mm 1991 and send it off to WC.

If only I could afford it.

Why the gap between the butt of the grip and the mag floor plate? Why not have it sit flush? You can extend the base pad without seeing the sides of the mag.

I love 1911s and all but I think there's only so much hand fitting and what not that you can do. It seems to me that all your buying is a brand name for who's knows how much I personally think that no 1911 manufacturer should charge so much there firearms unfortunately we all buy into that hey look at me mentality.

I still think the ball end mill stirrup cuts on the slide look horrible, and I would replace the thumb safety with the tiny tab immediately.

Why would you put fake ivory on a $3k+ pistol ? Don’t be such a treehugger. Use real Ivory. If it was good enough for Patton, it’s good enough for me. Sacrificing a few elephants is s small price to pay to make a handgun that will last 100 years.
