So I ordered the square notch version from Wilson and installed that myself. And of course when I ordered the EDC X9 direct from Wilson Comgat, I made sure to specify that I wanted the rear sight to be a square notched version of their battle sights.

    Great comparison. New sub, also a fellow gun tuber at a similar place in terms of subs. I am looking at the two staccatos, the C2 and C duo, along with the Bul Tac Com, or even a commander model in 9mm from Dan Wesson as a next purchase. The gun will serve for reviews, IDPA, and Carry. I’m leaning towards the Staccatos, C duo (optics ready for $1699) or C2 (standard for $1999). I’m finding it hard to pay an $400 additional to go double stack or $2499 for the C2 duo. Any advice?

  • @JayMacklin

    @JayMacklin

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the comments. 👍🏻. I’m not a red dot guy so the Duo is not something I would get but the C2 is in a funny place for me. I shoot the C2 at the range a lot but rarely carry it. I think it’s a better gun than the Bul’s tho. I’ve had issues with all 3 of my Bul Armory guns. Never an issue with my 4 Staccatos. I do however carry my Staccato C quite a bit and I shoot that one better than the C2. My rotation has changed a bit. I’m now rotating the EDC X9, Nighthawk Counselor, Staccato C and the Bul SASll UL.

    Jay Macklin thanks for the reply. I might go with the C duo which is what I’ve been leaning towards. I am on the fence with red dots myself, especially with carry guns. I shoot them better at the range and at matches, but I’ve experienced some obvious real life challenges with carrying glass for a sight including fogging, dust and debris obscuring my sight picture or dot. They work well around town and at the range, but outdoor work and activities combined with open carry can introduce failure modes that I believe a lot folks haven’t experienced or thought about.

I ended up selling the C2 because I found that either the grip or the safety was digging into the base of my thumb while shooting. That’s the only knock I have on the gun. For me, the EDC X9 is the better choice because of that. Aside from that, it would be a wash. Higher cost to get into the Wilson, but staccato mags cost twice as much. Pretty sure they designed the grip of edc x9 to be held with a magazine in the gun.....why add extra bulk to a pistol so you can get a full grip without any ammo to shoot? All 3 are great pistols...the WC just seems sleeker and more innovative to me. The dovetail plunger tube...screwless grips, the fact there is no grip safety, plus the best 1911 parts availiable all point to the WC being the clear winner in my book. Well worth the extra money.

    I wonder if Mr. Wilson is aware that questions sent to customer service go ignored? That the statement on his web page stating that if a customer has any problems and or questions all they have to do is to contact customer service turns out to be a bunch of BS? I bought a Super Sniper a month ago. On the third magazine a factory round jammed in the chamber, the BCG became frozen within the upper. I sent one email the first week, then another email the following week. That was three weeks ago and I've yet to receive a response. I realize issues happen within all types of manufacturing, but what I DO NOT understand is when a consumer invests $3,500 on what is billed as a premium AR10, encounters a major issue on the first outing to the range and is then left to spend MORE money to pay a gunsmith to solve the issue. I wonder if Mister Wilson knows this is happening in that department. Does he care? Are concepts like "Honor", "Integrity" and "Fidelity" REAL to him, or are they merely words to be spoken, then discarded when convenient?

    I have all of these as well. I EDC the WC. I like the C2 but carry the P (which I like better than the C2) just fine. I haven’t take the Bul (I have the 9mm) out yet but, it looks amazing. I don’t think it will carry as well in the summer with the flared magwell. I always wear hoodies or big coats in the fall and winter so, that’s when I carry the P and will add the Bul if my range experience goes well. If budget is a factor, I would’ve went with a CZ P01 steel frame…which I still want. If I were a better shooter, maybe I’d see the difference in performance. The Wilson is certainly well put together. The looks and quality are amazing. But I shoot my full size CZs such as the SP01 as well, if not better than my pricey full size Wilson’s, Nighthawk, etc…
