In Austria, collecting World War II militaria will soon no longer be possible, there is to be a law that will make the possession of all objects with a swastika a punishable offense and all things may be confiscated by the police, until recently it was only punishable if you glorified NS ideology or publicly displayed swastikas, now the normal militaria collector of steel helmets and medals, who does no harm and is only interested in history, unfortunately automatically becomes a criminal. Very sad!

That means the hobby of collecting Third Reich in Austria will go underground. It's very sad that the government there would equate neo Nazism of today with the Third Reich of the 1930s and 1940s. Like the old saying goes, those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

Unsurprising. Who is in charge? Europeans need to take back control of their countries....

That’s so sad that you can’t even collect & preserve history there. I’ll bet there’s many great items still over there in personal collections or waiting to be discovered.

@@Nick_B_Bad I'm hoping savvy Austrians find a way to buy, sell, and collect. The one basic right on a free country.
