What a pitiful lack of camera coverage of all the things the guide is pointing out! What’s the point to video it; audio alone would do the job. Big fail.

Thank you! Fabulous tour! Was there in October 2021. During my tour, I felt a overwhelming sense of sadness in the Queens suite of rooms. When I ubered back to my hotel, I had the pleasure of having a gentleman driver by the name of Gary. He told us he was a retired educator, he gave us a fabulous city tour. When I informed him of the sadness that I felt in the queen’s rooms , he told me that she came to me. He also stated that she is known to still be in the palace. I just love the spirit of Hawaii, there just something about that keeps me coming back and not wanting to leave. I hope to return next year again and hopefully every year.

Is there a way to edit this and add in pictures over the tour? I'd love to see what he's talking about.

Aloha! As an architecture enthusiast, this video is a godsend! I haven’t been able to visit in years despite living in Honolulu. It’s truly a gorgeous building. Really a treat.

The camera should be on what he is talking about, not on him, now I'm wondering what the etched glass looked like & the the coat of arms. Very ignorant camera person.

@strawberry fr You may be pleasantly surprised to learn that Hawaii is still a country, and has remained so despite the purported annexation of 1898 by the US. See funkyimg.com/i/342Ra.jpg and HawaiianKingdom.org for more information about the occupation of the Hawaiian Kingdom and the organized campaign to expose it and bring the US into compliance with the laws of occupation. Knowledge of Hawaii's lawful political status has gained growing awareness in Hawaii and internationally. On the home page of HawaiianKingdom.org is a link, at the top of the page, that connects to the Hawaiian Kingdom weblog, which has a wealth of information about the occupation and updates on developments in the acting Council of Regency's efforts to promote the growth of awareness of the occupation. You may also view the many presentations of Chairman of the Council of Regency of the acting Hawaiian Kingdom government Dr. David Keanu Sai by looking him up here on youtube or elsewhere online. If you would like to support the work of Dr. Sai and the Council of Regency, you can try to become as informed as you can on the subject of the US occupation of the Hawaiian Kingdom and share it within your sphere of influence; you may invest in Hawaiian Kingdom bonds. Thank you for your expression of support for the re emergence of the Hawaiian Kingdom into the family of nations!

The narrative was good but would have appreciated if the camera person showed what was being talked about, maybe not allowed to show everything. Many incorrect information, which of two stuck out to me, Kamehameha the Great unified 7-islands, the unification of Kauai was during Liholiho (Kamehameha II) and Ka'ahumanu (Chief Political Advisor of Kamehameha I and then self-proclaimed Kuhina Nui of Kamehameha II) period and surfing was an ancient Hawaiian sport going back to the days of Ali'i Nui 'Umi-a-Lilioa mid 1400s (could be even earlier).

King Kalakaua never knew his Japanese hosts were, inspite of their typical Japanese courtesy and legendary politeness were inherently bigots. The thought of one of their divine princes of the heavenly Yamato race biologically intermixing with an island barbarian must have insulted and horrified them

I am glad there is a tour like this on the internet but at the same time I am very sad how watered down or "revisionist" this is. Maybe it is because so much of the history was lost on purpose, but this tour doesn't paint things like the political climate of the time where Hawaiian attempted to westernize to prevent itself from being acquired by the Americans or another Western empire, the violent efforts of racist American businessmen like Dole (dole fruit company) in the bayonet constitution, and so forth. "a little bit of force?" Lol. It was a violent coup by rogue American corporate businessmen. This tour paints the idea that the royal family just happened to tragically go extinct, similar to the idea that natives just went extinct, when Hawaiians attempted to protest American colonization and even the US president deemed the coup by American businessmen as unconstitutional and against US law. Dole fruit company was not some American dream scenario, they got big from colonizing Hawaii and usurping the government. All the interesting/relevant aspects of the history of the apace is all just lost and rewritten on purpose.
