What a joy to watch ! I met Mr Saroyan twice over the years. Once at a local small library branch near Fresno's Tower District in the late 60s. I was with a friend who pointed him out to me...we were preteens. My friend had met him once at a local Armenian community dinner. We introduced ourselves and he was very kind to two boys who had not read any of this work but who knew he was a celebrity. And then later, as a young man, I was with a different friend and we came across Mr Saroyan in Fresno''s Fig Garden Village. He was on his well known bike and once again he was kind, patient & friendly. Though the late great Mr Saroyan sometimes had the reputation for sometimes being a grouch, I feel he had a soft spot in his heart for young people, as can be seen in this video. What an intelligent, thoughtful & articulate individual ! I've read that he never stopped writing, whether it would be published or not...that's the sign of a TRUE writer ! He writes because he must; it's a drive & a need. He was truly a man of the people....like Steinbeck, he knew what make the average working man tick and what they go thru. A thousand thanks for uploading this wonderful "blast from the past" ! You've MADE my day & my week ! CHEERS !! :-)

He was a fascinating man who led a fascinating life. A veritable "force of nature" ! Almost larger than life ! The most famous person to come out of the city of Fresno, Calif.
