I was scared out of my mind and home alone, lol. Thank goodness it all turned out ok in the end. My favorite WIlliam Hurt roles were in Accidental Tourist and Gorky Park. I always wished they made more Detective Arkady Renko books into movies. They seem relevant even today. And yes, Altered States. However, I always wished I could have seen him in the theater live, from what I've read he was even more exceptional.

Always enjoyable to watch William Hurt. Especially liked him in the underrated film Mr Brooks where he played the physical manifestation of Kevin Costner's' serial killer subconscious. What a hoot!

Just watched Kiss of the Spider Woman. I am generally not a fan of Oscars or treating art as a competition in general, but this one was well deserved.

William Hurt is one of the finest actors around and one that I highly respect for how he is always willing to go back to acting classes to work on his craft. This Oscar was very deserved, easily one of the best given out. I have to say that I also highly respect him for acknowledging the great Raul Julia, who was snubbed unfairly that year. He was worthy of a nomination and probably the only person who would have deserved to win over Hurt.

Eu vi "O Beijo da Mulher Aranha" em Belém do Pará, no Cine Olympia. Jamais esquecerei. Belo filme. Raul Julia e William Hurt deram show de interpretação. Sônia Braga memorável performance também. O grande filme de Hector Babenco, a quem tive a honra de conhecer em Belém, durante as filmagens de "Brincando nos Campos do Senhor", produzido por Saul Zaentz.

Gone too soon, breaks my heart. I remember this night, when he won. This is the way I always think of him. Look at 'em all, in their younger/middle years. It's funny he says he didn't expect to be up there; my memory is that he was heavily favored to win that year!
