De Nieuwe Kerk te Delft beschikt over één van de grotere orgels van de fa. J. Bätz en co.
Samen met de orgels van de Ronde Lutherse Kerk in Amsterdam en het orgel van de Domkerk in Utrecht, behoort dit orgel tot de drie 19e-eeuwse pronkstukken van de vermaarde Utrechtse orgelbouwer.
Het instrument is gebouwd in 1839 en heeft 48 stemmen, verdeeld over hoofdwerk, rugwerk, bovenwerk en pedaal.
Het orgel heeft de tijd goed doorstaan.
Van het pijpwerk is meer bewaard gebleven dan bijvoorbeeld bij het Bätz orgel van de Domkerk in Utrecht het geval is.
De woorden van Jonathan Bätz lijken daardoor in vervulling te gaan:
“Zo er geen rampen gebeuren zal men twee eeuwen na onze dood het werk nog als degelijk en eerlijk geleverd roemen”

The Nieuwe Kerk in Delft has one of the larger organs of the fa. J. Bätz and co.
Together with the organs of the Round Lutheran Church in Amsterdam and the organ of the Dom Church in Utrecht, this organ belongs to the three 19th-century showpieces of the renowned Utrecht organ builder.
The instrument was built in 1839 and has 48 voices, divided between Hoofdwerk, Rugwerk (Positif), Borstwerk (Swell), and pedal.
The organ has stood the test of time well.
For example, more has been preserved of the pipework than is the case, for example, with the Bätz organ of the Domkerk in Utrecht.
The words of Jonathan Bätz thus seem to be fulfilled: "If no disasters happen, two centuries after our death, the work will be celebrated as sound and honest"
The sound of the organ has a fairly classic character, especially if you compare this with the 17 years younger Bätz-Witte organ in the Oude Kerk at Delft.
However, there are already "romantic" influences present.
The organ is actually in the middle of a development that has already been in use.
The 8-year-old Bätz organs in the Dom Church in Utrecht and Round Lutheran Church in Amsterdam (organs of about the same size) are for the most part (sound and disposition) similar to the Delft organ, but also show some differences.
The sesquialter and the sharp ones, which are present in both Utrecht and Amsterdam, are not found in the original disposition of the Bätz organ in Delft. In addition, the double choirs in the discant at Prestant and Octaves in Delft are no longer implemented.
This is still the case with the mixes.
Noteworthy is that the character of for example the performers has remained the same and also the rest of the disposition is almost 1: 1 comparable to the other two organs.
There is not really a new sound idiom here yet.
