Yesterday I decorated family graves for what when I was a boy was called Decoration Day. Then we all believed, that Christ would treat us, as we treated others, and especially the least of His brethren. The stars in our crowns we are granted by the way we love each other and live during our time here. Thanks for playing an old Christian Church standard.

Thanks, Papaw! I would do more finger-picking if I could. I'm pretty limited in that department. It's very much like patting your head and rubbing your tummy while doing a third thing! I love this song, and honestly food for thought, since I hope to have more to lay at Jesus feet

My mom is 90 and she always tells me about two churches across the street from each other and the church across the street was singing this. Its supposed to be a joke but I don’t remember the punchline. Its the only connection to this hymn that I have so was happy to hear you sing it! Thank you!

That's a really interesting write-up. I've done shapenote singing and I always think of those weekends-which vary by church of course!-as decoration days of a sort. I think I first heard these words from a composer of contemporary classical music-Caroline Shaw. She sings these words in a very lovely way, but I especially love hearing the more traditional, old-time style from you.

Paul, I commented yesterday but where the comment went I haven't a clue. Anyway I truly enjoyed this song the softness of your voice made this song soothing. I am glad you got the old dove fixed up she is a beautiful great sounding guitar. I love listening to you play it.
