Will there be a second stimulus plan?
Will we get another stimulus check?

Quite possibly.
On Tuesday, April 29, White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett said that White House officials, as well as members of Congress, are “studying very carefully” the possibility of future relief packages, and characterized a future relief package as “very likely.” In this video I’d like to talk about the two most commonly discussed possibilities: the Emergency Money for the People Act, and the Automatic Boost to Communities Act.

Considering the level of unemployment, health risk, and enforced quarantine we definitely need more stimulus checks to assure a decent living standard (food and shelter.) In regards to the national debt deescalation, I can think of several measures: reducing military industry expenditure, eliminating government subsidies for mega corporations (especially offshore businesses), enforcing fair taxes for mega rich (dropping loopholes)... etcetera.

Lots to do...lots to do... Interestingly we hear little of this in campaigns, which seem to be more rhetoric about the other party's faults and just unseating the other, rather than actually discussing what major issues are looming. It's also interesting to look at where our stimulus here in the U.S. ranks compared to other nations, when you consider stimulus amount to tax rate. We're still a little low at this point by comparison to many others. At the same time, compared to many other nations (especially in Europe) we have a low tax rate.

I don't think we are going to get a 2nd stimulus check!
Well, Professor, I believe we do need to do one more Stimulus check to try to boost the economy but after that, I think we need to start talking about raising taxes in 2021. This current economic downturn is going to force more people into and onto early retirement as they are unable to maintain current jobs and more people will be filing for disability. I say this as a Republican.

Thanks so much for the comment, Wayne. I agree and would add that at some point we've got to start addressing national debt! While we've been running a debt since 1917, and it has increased in all but a handful of years since, at some point the chickens are going to come home to roost.
