If the ps5 pro can perform at 60 fps and native 4k and ray tracing then yes it will be worth upgrading from base ps5 model otherwise no point

@nottoogoo Racing and fighting games like tekken can easily achieve those numbers, but not on AAA games. Uncharted 4 can't even run at 4k 60fps on ps5 and its a last gen game

As a ps4 player. I’m only upgrading to the ps5 pro, I don’t see the reason in upgrading as of now to the ps5, Might as well save the extra $150 or so on the newer model.

There is no CPU improvement, as per the leaks and rumours, PS 5 pro will have same CPU. Because of that, users will definitely face bottleneck

@@blaze26700 Many games already have a 40 Hz performance mode on current PS5 hardware, ideally at the very least a CPU boost would be enough to ensure that's possible for most PS5 Pro games. Also I haven't looked into it, but the 3700x (more or less the CPU in the PS5) was pretty capable (still is) and can be overclocked quite a bit, so I'll pull up how much performance gains can be had from cranking it up.

@@cinemapigeon4898 over clocking is never a good idea. You will get Noise and Overheating. I tried over clocking my 13700, it started throttling and Overheating. Let's hope the PS5 pro is an actual improvement. Because I have to play GTA VI, that's the only reason I will buy it.

The difference between the c2 or c3 is small, c3 has a better brightness . The g2 doesn’t have a stand as it intend to be wall mounted and it is very similar to the c3. The c3 is slightly better with better OS version and support DTS. If you can find a good price , I would recommend the C2. Otherwise go with the C3 . Both TV will last at least 5 years

Also bought my PS4 Pro on day 1 here in Sweden. Just got a 8TB external drive for it & it already internal SSD. 😂 Quite likely i might buy the PS5 Pro on day 1 as well keeping the Pro-Tradition! 👍

To anyone seeing this I would NOT check out redgamingtech for specs/leaks. I would check out people like moores law is dead because they actually leak stuff and have real sources unlike redgamingtech. I watch both channels and I cannot remember the last time redgamingtech actually was the first person to release information to the public and everything he says these days is so caveated with “take all this with a grain of salt” and “my one source says this but the other disagrees” that it’s almost worthless. If you are a fan of redgamingtech and like actual reliable (as much as it can be) info I would highly suggest you check out another channel like moores law is dead.

Ive been playing a 4 pro since launch... waiting on the 5 pro since ps5 release(bc of the jump the latter made). Very recently running into heating issues with it as of late (PS4 pro placement up higher in the room, and my kids using it more frequently haven't helped). Trying to stay up, but after watching this, almost doesn't seem worth waiting for the games I play. I'll stay with a moderate TV, get a 5 now... Maybe wait to see what's ahead before deciding on the future.

Frame Gen is a game changer and it could produce a huge jump in graphical performance greater than the proportional increase of processing power of the ps5 pro, we could see 4k 60fps as normal and even 4k 120hz options

Graphic engines have been evolving pretty fast lately. Even at 30fps, devs are now forced to do without things like ray tracing in some games in order to squeeze a 1200p image and then upscale it to 4K, with these games being rendered at around 800p in performance mode and then upscaled to 1440p. Sony knows they need to provide hardware options for graphics enthusiasts, as for a console that still has 3 years in its lifetime it's surely showing its age already.

This gen is well disappointing. Consoles struggling no way they can do a AAA game with 4K native at 60fps, then there’s raytracing which it simply doesn’t have the power to do. The norm in quality seems to be 1440 native at 30fps or slightly upscaled which is a long way from native

That's why a PS3 was my last console. I got tired of having to upgrade so often. At least now with PC I only need upgrade every 8-10 years depending on the GPU. And Evan at that it's more affordable.

Hope next gen focus's on frames rather than resolution.

Been happily playing my ps5 on my old tv… until last night when I wanted to upgrade. I got a c90s 4k 120htz and learned 99% of games run on 1440 upscaled :( …thought they were native 4k.

To both of you. Depends on TV quality. High end TVs for example Sony, Samsung and LG flagships have blur and judder reduction post processing settings specific to games with low latency. Honestly, it can be a game changer for 30fps games. Although it's no substitute for the real deal.

Incidentally, I uploaded a gameplay capture of FFVII Rebirth on my channel the other day. Just thinking after the fact that this is a good example of this in action. I'm playing at 30fps with those game mode low framerate jank settings turned on on my TV. Judge for yourself how it looks.

@confounded_feline it's only the Samsung motion interpolation that can be used with lower input latency. But the result is also worse LG with motion interpolation is adding 100ms+ input delay. That's just way too much lag for 30fps.

Ill be getting one :) still havnt grabbed a 5 in its current form its just ok.

8K will be impossible for a title even with the PS5 Pro. Maybe a finally 4K at 60 but not in native. More than likely a steady 30fps at 4K.

Yeah i need it, because i bougt ps4 before a month sony announced ps4 pro, an from then 2015 i was watching everybody only releasing pro footage and i stuck with a lesser console( which still runs without any repair or cleaning), now i wait for the pro. Also, good looking ps4 games came after the pro was released Also now the only ps5 excusive which has little intrest in me is spider man 2 released last year (God of war, horizon forbidden west , gt7) is playable on ps4 too

I’m currently using the LG G2 and will get either the LG G4 in 83” or the Samsung QN900D in 85”. Which ever I can get first.

@@n.h187 You'll be getting the same exact games at 4k with more frames. If that's worth $600-700 is a choice for each person. Many are happy with just the PS5 and Series X and will wait for the next gen. The next PS and Xbox will have an advantage over this generation, we're already at 4k, so the processing power advantage will be directed at more frames and increased graphics. The games graphic quality will be greater than the jump to PS5 and Series X from the PS4 and Xbox one. The next machines will be a true generational leap in graphics, especially with a DLSS equivalent and frame generation if implemented properly.

The ps6 is aiming for 8k at 60 fps and 4k at 120 fps. At that point its not a matter of the console but your television. Is you TV true native 8k? The true 8k tvs are still relatively out of people's grasps. Luckily I have ps5 and just got my Samsung 8k TV so looking forward to buying the ps6 in 2027-2028 since the next gens console are still 3 to 4 years away. And I will buy a ps5 pro aswell and put the normal ps5 in my living room and the pro in the man cave :)

@@oX313Xo 8k is four times the pixels of 4k. So the PS6 would need to be 4x the power (over 40 TFLOPs) of PS5 just to maintain the same FPS and graphic quality. It makes no sense. The simplest answer is the PS6 will target 4k and increase graphics quality. Simple games will easily hit 8k, but demanding games won’t. It makes more sense to increase graphics, 4k is just fine.

Im more of a pc gamer but had both the xboxs and playstations, but im just hoping theses a ps5 pro for the upcoming gta6. Yeah ill buy a new system just for it

The PS4 has a pro verison cause of the need for 4k resolution with the increasing popularity of 4k Tvs (back then). This PS5 generation is already lagging behind the PS4 in terms of excluisves and PS5 only games (not cross gen) A PS5 pro seems unnecessary. Oh well just my thoughts.

Ps5 pro is needed. Ps5 hardware is already old. Plus Sony came out saying there will be no exclusives until 2025. Hence their saving them for the pro.

I think double the performance is very wishful thinking. That would be a $700 card right now. Even with magical deals and cut back features, you still need to add the cpu, ram, ssd, and everything else. I'm thinking at most 50%.

The difference won't be huge. We have already reached an extremely high level on the PS5 and Xbox. Especially for the money compared to a PC.

​​​​​​@@oX313Xo I own a 6800XT and trust me most AAA games won't hit 60fps in 4K native. 120fps at 1440p is also just as much of a stretch (more in the region of 90-100fps). It'll fall short, you need at least a 4080 or a 7900XTX to guarantee that kind of performance. And that's right now, never mind in 2 or 3 years time

I just recently upgraded to a 6700XT from a GTX 970. The 970 had been able to play most games all these years without a problem at 1080p. Even PS5s have been capped at 60fps playing something like GTA5 where my 970 could do it at 120fps.

@fafski1199 I mean this is why I said IF it can, and I think it's common knowledge that hardware of course is a huge factor but so is the optimization of the game your playing how polished the devs make it. If it's a online game if other players share the world with you (mmo) ect ect. Hardware although being one of the key major factors is not the ONLY factor. Alot of the games you see with these performance issues it's to not fault of the hardware in the PC for the hardware is more than capable, but also the fault of poor optimization on the devs. However is 2 or 3 years times I think you'll see more 4k 60fps and I think it will only get better has studios and devs learn to properly optimize their games and engines to run a steady 60fps in 4k. I don't think it's a long shot at all I just think so many factors play a role that it makes it difficult FOR SURE. This is still a IF not a it WIILL run 4k at 60fps. Just saying if it did that is a HUGE reason to get a pro over the normal ps5 and I think many would agree . However we have also become VERY spoiled i remember plays 64bit games hell I remember when my first stock PC I ever bought was running at 30-40 fps with shity resolution and I was perfectly happy and content.

Considering that most newly released AAA games do not look better than games released 10-15 years ago (and even worse if you take Suicide Squad or the latest UbiSoft crap), I do not see the point in better, more expensive hardware. Sure, some games are more demanding, but that is only because they are poorly optimized, either by incompetence or by design.

Console gamers should have the option for higher framerate/fidelity modes in their games if they want. Such modes have become incredibly common, and we shouldn't have to be locked in at 30 fps games mid to late generations while PC gamers can have their cake and eat it, too (also at a cost). Again, everything is optional, but it's good to have an option if we want to enjoy GTA 6 in the best possible light or whatever the case may be.

I am not buying a PS5 Pro due to no big update than the base like graphical upgrade and I heard it is the teraflop and the upscale is upgraded.

The PS5 Pro fan needs to generate lower fan noise. It sits on the same shelf as my Xbox Series X. Both have sufficient spacing but the PS5 fan is LOUD (clean vents and interior) whereas the fan cooling the Series X whirrs only a whisper! Please engineer our PS5 Pro with reducing NOISE POLLUTION in mind, Sony. We shouldn’t have to factor in fan noise when increasing audio to mask LOUD FAN NOISE. Thanks

sometimes its just not the hardware which cause underwhelming performance in games. AAA games from past few years are really struggling with poor optimization (even on console) , technical and graphical glitches and bugs .

And if you know anything about gaming, you'll know how to work around that. There's always gonna be glitches, what you gonna do, cry about it?? It makes it worse when you have a shit system like I do (the switch). Even on this trash system I work around the game's glitches...so ik with a better system I can at least do it while seeing clearly and being faster in doing so lmao. Learn how to really game please... Please...last night I gamed...switch errored yet again as usual...I managed to come back in the game and still did way better than my teammates who were on PS consoles and even on PC ...forgot that one.THAT'S NOT THE GAME, NOT THE HARDWARE (like my issue with the blurry slow trash switch) THAT'S YOU NOT KNOWING HOW TO FUCKIN THINK AND GAME PROPERLY. What would convince me is first of all the fact that Sony would still keep releasing exclusive games for the PS5/Pro and one year (or two) later going to pc. I'm fine with that. Secondly, they absolutely need to make sure that their games run 4k/60fps (with RT) at the minimum or 4K/120fps without RT. I think that's reasonable. I don't expect them to run 4k/120fps with RT. I know RT is putting a lot of strain on the GPU. Lastly: Physical media! There needs to be an optical drive! I don't want digital only. If they do that, i could go ahead and build my own gaming pc as there isn't any physical media available either on pc.

Even a 4090 will struggle to hit that in every game, especially 120fps at 4K native and they cost upwards of $1600. You ain't going to see that sort of level on console until at least the PS6 in around 4+ years time. BTW, the rumoured PS5 Pro would only be around half as powerful as a 4090. Just like my 6800XT, it'll struggle to hit native 60fps at 4K without RT, in most AAA games (same with 120fps at 1440p).

@@fafski1199 Oh yeah, i wouldn't say native 4K. With tricks like DLSS or something alike, i hope it is possible to hit that target. Native 4k is a complete different beast! 😀

@@fafski1199 the pro is expected to be equal to/slightly above the 7800xt not the 6800 xt so it would be more around 60-70% of a 4090 in pure raster in terms of rt they expect to beat out the 7900xtx since it will be using rdna 4 rt tech so probably similar to a theoretical 8700xt in that department. It could do 4k 60-120 rt in all these cross gen ps4/ps5 titles but don’t expect that for ue5 next gen only titles

What’s the point when there’s a serious lack of games.

Alright so here is the thing, PS5 pro gonna have the same CPU so we gamers will definitely face Bottleneck. I was think about PS 5PRO because of GTA VI but i can guarantee the fps will be around 30-50fps. It will be better to wait for PS 6.

I would get a pro, just to play gta 6 as it would be the best version since its not coming to pc day 1

I want a ps5 pro now but with higher fps to multi player 165 would be nice but I will take 144. Playing with PC players the competition isn't close

Verizon charges me $4 a gigabite. So it cost me $470 to buy and download Red Dead Redemption 2. I spent over $5,480 downloading 1,370 gigabites on my 2TB PS4. So I am done downloading games. It's rediculious when people complain about a $80 game like MW3, and pay more to download it. Even at $1 a gigabite it cost over $100 to download these big games, plus the game. So people are actually spending over $200 to install a digital copy of MW3.

United States has the highest internet prices World Wide. The cheapest US provider is $2.15 a gigabite. Israel pays 2 cents per gigabite and has the cheapest internet in the World.

I don’t think we need a quick resume.. games only take a few seconds to load up so to me the PS5 is already fast enough.

Where is 4k AND 120hz. I know that a ps5 isn't powerful enough to do so (not even a 4090 can do 4k 120hz) but PS advertising on the box is misleading

Still out of stock in so many locations. How will they be able to keep this in stock or make enough for people haha. Great video always love your point of view on everything.

And just like a 7700XT and 6800XT, it'll struggle to hit native 60fps @4K without RT in most AAA games. I think some console gamers greatly underestimate what sort of performance is required to hit certain targets like 4K.

The Touryst not just runs in 8K in the PS5, but also at 60fps, granted it has less polygons that Minecraft, but the capability is there, we just need games, not more hardware, consoles aren't PCs.

I think thry should skip pro and if ms bringing new console out 2026 do same but to be fair to both xb and ps5 needs more time to mature get good games.

4K60 should a requirement of all games now 4K is cheaper

The PS5 Pro is said to be as powerful as the 6800 XT and the games are getting more demanding every year too, At that time even a 4080 would barely be enough for 4K 60. And don't expect the performance of a 5080 in a $500 console.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor is struggling because of poor optimisation, it has nothing to do with the hardware of the consoles. There are many better looking and more demanding games that run better.. That said we don't need a PRO model if the PS6 released in 2026 at least imo. I will still buy it lol but just don’t think it will be worth it if we get the next gen console in 2 years time.
