She wants to live ... so let her live! Don't wreck it on track, put it back on the road! 😁

Lol I'm surprised it didn't snap in half. Tend to get a tad rusty underneath 😅
"Should We Fix It" Yes, shes a cool ole cat, desperately wants to run and go back on the road, plenty of life left in her yet, even after 182,381 miles! Like to see a jet-washing video of it next!
I was waiting for teletext to roll across the dash🤣. What a lass 👌
Don't see many of those old Jags any more. Seems a shame to deliberately wreck it.

How much rust is hiding will decide what happens next

@@fittermat Yes. After writing this comment I remembered the state of a 500 quid Jag I looked at buying back in 2015. It looked OK from a distance, but up close it was a right old heap only fit for a banger racing track.

@@fittermatperfect for a road trip to Le Mans next year 👍
My friend had one of those 30 years ago and it was in worse condition. Deffo fix it!
It needs to go back on the road
Hope you are on again posting? Enjoy the content Mat!
Bowler on thumbnail is mint and both series 3s are nice
🤣"fat man does work" As a 25% shareholder in this car I propose A) much welding, B) bringing it to Ireland for a road trip, C) M57 conversioning!
It looks like the Duke boys found a new General Lee! - Damm that looks like fun!

@@colinritchie1757 Never owned one but have a story about an expensive one.., the owner of Ticketmaster (Noel Harrison) bought a Georgian/Victorian mansion (Tubber Na Carrig) which I was decorating just inside Kircubbin NI.., 6.2 Jag F-Type.., he was just back from Dubai and had to pick his 2 dogs up from the kennels, he asked if he could borrow my Fiesta and I said sure, he said the keys were in the jag incase I needed to pop out anywhere, I just said dont tempt me 😛
I had a XJ40 about 15 years ago it was great fun. A white povety spec XJ40 with steels and cloth seats could mean its an ex police car. I saw clean it up and put it back onnthe road as long as its not to rotten underneath, either way theres a lot of useful parts on there for a specialist.
those gauges and dash are so cool
YOU'RE ALIVE!!!!
I have a feeling we got her running when we pulled Bryan out a few months before… glad to see you are concerned at what Jess would say when you put it in the marquee!!!!
Nice fixer upper
University ?????
Send it to mathewsons auctions. Someone would restore it to its former glory. And you would get some wedge out of it.
Looks good on the surface (in spite of the dirt) but I wonder what a close inspection would reveal. Still, looks and sounds like it would be worth the effort to bring it back.

I will get it up on a ramp soon and see if it’s worth the work to save

Northampton or King Lynn banger track 👌
Long time no see. Welcome back. Warrington & District Motor Club run gravel autosolos in a quarry in Conwy, North Wales, which are an absolute hoot. Weld the diff and bring her up to one of our events. Theres a scrapyard next door, so if you kill it you could weigh it in afterwards. In days gone by we did see how many people we could fit into one car for a stage. - Someone brought a people carrier to an event and we all piled into it for a laugh. You might find it'll be a lot quicker with some fresh fuel. Modern petrol doesn't age well. - Speaking from experience.

And it's a good venue. :-)
I think it deserves a good clean and examination to see how good the bodywork is, it could well be rotten, in which case is it worth it?
My old jag I think do u know where u bought it from
put the engine and box into the landy boys!!!
Its worth sorting and going back on the road, how often to you see them nowadays? Its a Jaaaaaag.....
Do it. road trip it. Beers and brothels of Europe!
Throw a bucket over it, clean the seats, and it's a good 'un!
Why not make a unique build out of it, stick turbo, nice 3 spoke steering wheel, roll cage you get picture, they're few and far between now
matt went to uni in shocked ,,, i thought he went to the univeraty of life like most spanner jockeys

If prices are as wild on used cars as they are on this side of the pond, you might be able to get a good return on your 400 pound investment even if its rusted to bits.
You should fix it and then immediately brake it so you can fix it in another episode
Dont kill it! Get some welding practice and let her live!
Seems a shame to race. Maybe a track day? For a laugh send in for mot.
Drift Jag?

Don't wreck it. Look after her. Don't see many of those about these days.
What can you buy for £400 these days that will still start after 5 years.
What ignorant Louts well done Jaguar
